As we continue to invest in the future of UK steelmaking, we are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Design Engineer to join our AIRED (Asset Integrity, Reliability, Engineering & Design) team in Scunthorpe.\nThis is a unique opportunity to work within one of the UK's largest and most complex industrial environments, providing engineering solutions that directly support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our steelmaking facilities.\nNo two days are the same. You will be involved in a diverse range of projects spanning structural, mechanical and possibly civil engineering disciplines, from concept development and detailed design through to site support and project delivery.\nKey Responsibilities\nProduce engineering designs, calculations and technical reports.\nDeliver structural and mechanical engineering solutions for plant modifications, maintenance and projects.\nDevelop designs using recognised engineering standards and best practices.\nUndertake structural assessments and calculations to both BS5950 and applicable Eurocodes.\nSupport multidisciplinary engineering projects across the business.\nLiaise with operational, maintenance and project teams to develop practical engineering solutions.\nConduct site visits and surveys to gather information and support project delivery.\nEnsure designs meet relevant health, safety and compliance requirements.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the AIRED function.\nWhat we need to know about you\nWe are seeking an enthusiastic engineer who combines strong technical ability with a proactive and practical approach.\nEssential Requirements\nDegree qualified in Structural, Mechanical or related Engineering discipline.\nWorking towards Professional Registration (IEng or CEng) or already Chartered.\nKnowledge and experience of both Structural and Mechanical Engineering Design.\nExperience producing engineering calculations and technical reports.\nFamiliarity with BS5950 and relevant Eurocodes.\nCompetent in engineering design and analysis software, including:\nTekla Tedds\nAutodesk Robot Structural Analysis\nStrong problem-solving and communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.\nDesirable but not essential:\nExperience in Civil Engineering design.\nExperience within heavy industry, manufacturing, steelmaking or process plants.\nKnowledge of asset integrity, reliability or maintenance engineering principles.\nExperience supporting projects from concept through to implementation.\nWhat we can offer you\n\nWe know our employees are our greatest asset and alongside the great benefits packages we offer, we continue to invest in their careers by providing a huge range of training and development opportunities. \nWhatever your stage in life, you'll find a range of benefits to complement your work-life balance.
