This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled structural professional who is ready to combine hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced, highly automated manufacturing environment.\nIn this role, you'll lead work groups comprising both internal employees and contractors, ensuring maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you'll carry out a wide range of structural maintenance activities that support asset reliability and operational performance. Your structural engineering expertise will be essential in identifying defects, carrying out repairs, resolving issues, and responding to emerging maintenance requirements.\nWorking within a technologically advanced industrial setting, you'll play a key role in maintaining the integrity and reliability of critical plant infrastructure. Safety is at the heart of everything we do, so a strong understanding of health and safety legislation, company procedures, and safe systems of work is essential. You'll be confident identifying hazards, managing risks, and ensuring all work is carried out safely and compliantly.\nWhat we’re looking for\nThe successful candidate will:\nDemonstrate strong leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate and motivate teams and contractors.\nBe a highly motivated team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nThrive in a collaborative environment and be willing to undertake ongoing training and development.\nBring a positive, proactive mindset and contribute to a high-performing team culture.\nDemonstrate excellent reliability, professionalism, and time management skills.\nBe adaptable, flexible, and confident working across a variety of structural maintenance activities and plant equipment.\nWhat you need to bring\n\nTo be considered for this opportunity, you'll need:\nA minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant structural, fabrication, welding, plating, or engineering discipline, or\nA recognised apprenticeship in a relevant trade.*\nIdeally, you'll have experience in structural maintenance, fabrication, repair, or fault identification within a manufacturing, industrial, commercial, or heavy engineering environment. Previous experience supervising work teams or coordinating contractors would be advantageous, although not essential.\nWe're looking for individuals who are eager to learn, embrace new technologies, and continuously develop their skills. The ability to adapt to new equipment, processes, and ways of working is vital to success in this role.\nExperience within the steel industry would be beneficial, but it's not essential.
