This role is critical for driving continuous improvement in user experience, operational efficiency, and commercial outcomes:\nDevelop and implement performance measurement frameworks to assess product's success against strategic goals, KPIs, and user needs.\nCollect, analyse, and interpret data from multiple sources to provide actionable insights for product and service improvement.\nProvide evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders to support strategic and operational decision-making.\nEnsure data accuracy, integrity, and quality assurance across reporting processes and outputs.\nDesign and deliver reporting tools and dashboards to enable real-time monitoring and informed decisions.\nCollaborate closely with product managers, user researchers, marketing, and operations teams to align performance analysis with business priorities.\nIdentify trends, risks, and opportunities by analysing customer behaviour, service performance, and market data.\nSupport product's commercial strategy by providing insights into user acquisition, retention, and engagement.\nBuild capability and promote a data-driven culture across the product team.\nActively participate in the data community to share best practices and develop the discipline within the organisation.\nAbout the organisation\nWe support peace and prosperity by building connections, understanding and trust between people in the UK and countries worldwide. We uniquely combine the UK’s deep expertise in arts and culture, education and the English language, our global presence and relationships in over 100 countries, our unparalleled access to young people, creatives and educators, and our own creative sparkle.\nMain accountabilities\nDesign, implement, and maintain performance measurement frameworks aligned with product business strategy and user needs.\nDefine and track metrics across all stages of the learner journey, including acquisition, retention, satisfaction, and revenue performance.\nConduct deep-dive analysis to understand trends, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to optimise performance.\nDevelop reporting tools, dashboards, and visualisations to enable teams to access and act on data independently.\nEnsure all analysis and reporting processes meet data quality, security, and privacy standards.\nWork with product, marketing, and operations teams to ensure that performance insights drive decision-making and prioritisation.\nCollaborate with user researchers to integrate qualitative and quantitative data for a complete understanding of user behaviour.\nProvide regular performance updates to senior stakeholders, including executive-level reports and presentations.\nLead data reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, operational changes, and new product features.\nBuild internal capability by mentoring colleagues and promoting a culture of data-driven continuous improvement.\nRole specific knowledge and experience\nMinimum / essential\nExperience in performance analysis or data analytics roles, preferably in digital products or services.\nStrong quantitative analysis skills, with proficiency in tools such as SQL, analytics platforms, and Excel.\nExperience developing and tracking metrics for digital service performance.\nAbility to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations.\nStrong data visualisation skills, with experience creating dashboards and reports.\nUnderstanding of data privacy and security principles.\nExperience analysing Google Analytics (GA4) data.\nFluency in English.\nCurrent residency in the UK or Poland with unlimited right to work.\nDesirable\nExperience with customer acquisition and retention analytics in a subscriptionbased business.\nKnowledge of education technology or online learning services.\nFamiliarity with visualisation tools such as Looker, Tableau and/or Power BI.\nExperience working in a global or multicultural context.\nUnderstanding of Agile ways of working and product development cycles.\nEducation\nDegree, preferably in a relevant field such as data science, computer science, information systems, business, or a related discipline, e.g. a STEM subject or a finance-related subject.\nProfessional Qualification and Certification\nData or analytics-related certifications, such as in data management, data governance, or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) are desirable but not required.\nBritish Council values and behaviours\nBritish council values and behaviours are applicable across our organisation, in all roles and at all levels.
