As new contracts are awarded, this position may also support direct client engagements.\nThe ideal candidate blends hands-on technical depth with strong architectural vision, communication skills, and an ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences.\n**Must be local to the DC Metro Area, mostly remote**\nBenefits:\nComprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance\nEmployer-Paid Life Insurance\nEmployer-Paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance\n401(k)\nPaid Time Off (PTO) that includes Vacation Leave, Sick Leave, and 11 Paid Holidays\nEducational Assistance\nSalary: 165k-190k (Negotiable for the right candidate)\nClick here to learn about BRMi's culture.\nClick here to see BRMi’s Glassdoor reviews\nResponsibilities\nLead or significantly contribute to the technical solution sections of federal proposals, including system architecture, security, cloud, and implementation approaches.\nCollaborate with capture managers, proposal managers, and subject matter experts to develop winning technical strategies.\nClearly articulate proposed solutions, assumptions, risks, and trade-offs in proposal narratives and diagrams.\nDesign and document enterprise and solution architectures aligned with business objectives, customer requirements, and industry best practices. \nDevelop reusable solution architectures and technical content based on corporate past performance to support proposal development.\nServe as an internal technology subject matter expert across domains such as software engineering, systems integration, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data platforms, and emerging technologies.\nAct as a technical advisor to delivery teams, providing guidance on architecture decisions, technology selection, and long-term scalability.\nResearch emerging technologies and industry trends, assess their applicability, and develop proof-of-concept prototypes where appropriate.\nFacilitate brown-bag sessions, technical workshops, or knowledge-sharing forums to build organizational capability and awareness.\nAssist with architectural oversight and high-level management of corporate cloud environments (AWS and Azure), including guidance on security, scalability, reliability, and cost optimization.\nPerform other duties as assigned\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.\n10+ years of experience supporting IT projects and solution development across multiple technology domains.\n3+ years of experience in an Enterprise Architect, Solutions Architect, or similar role designing complex, enterprise-scale systems.\nExperience supporting federal government programs and proposal efforts.\nStrong technical writing and presentation skills, with demonstrated ability to produce clear, high-quality documentation and architecture diagrams.\nHands-on experience designing and developing web-based applications using Java or .NET, along with modern JavaScript frameworks.\nDeep understanding of:Enterprise application architectures and integration patterns\nRelational databases and data-driven systems\nClient-server and distributed systems\nWeb services and APIs\nLinux and Windows server environments\nCloud architectures and deployment models\n\nExperience supporting the implementation and operation of enterprise applications and infrastructure.\nRelative certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Architect) are a plus.\nMust be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.\nPreferred / Desired Qualifications:\nFamiliarity with security and compliance in regulated environments, including development or support of System Security Plans (SSPs).\nWorking knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST SP 800-53, CMMC, and related controls.\nExperience or familiarity with AI/ML, natural language processing, data analytics, or advanced data platforms.\nKnowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere.\nExperience with enterprise content management and collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint, OpenText).\nFamiliarity with industry best-practice frameworks such as ITIL, CMMI, TOGAF, or similar enterprise architecture methodologies.\nEOE/Minorities/Females/Vet/Disabled\nWe are an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and commitment at all levels.
