This role is focused on solving complex technical problems and helping ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, maintainable, and sustainable.\nThe Technical Solutions Engineer works closely with Engineering, Architecture, Security, and Product teams to analyze applications, review technical solutions, identify technical debt, support modernization efforts, and promote sound software engineering practices. This is not a traditional software development role, but it requires the ability to understand and analyze source code and provide technical recommendations.\nBenefits:\nComprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance\nEmployer-Paid Life Insurance\nEmployer-Paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance\n401(k)\nPaid Time Off (PTO) that includes Vacation Leave, Sick Leave, and 11 Paid Holidays\nEducational Assistance\nSalary: 110k-137k\n**Hybrid in Vienna, VA**\n**An In Person interview will be required for this role**\nClick here to learn about BRMi's culture.\nClick here to see BRMi’s Glassdoor reviews\nResponsibilities\nAnalyze application source code and architecture to understand existing solutions and identify opportunities for improvement.\nPerform technical analysis across applications, APIs, integrations, and services to address complex engineering challenges.\nRecommend improvements to application scalability, resiliency, maintainability, security, and sustainability.\nPartner with engineering and architecture teams to review solution designs and implementation approaches.\nIdentify technical debt and support the prioritization and implementation of remediation efforts.\nPromote secure coding practices and security-by-design principles throughout the software development lifecycle.\nEvaluate technologies, frameworks, and technical patterns to support application and platform modernization.\nCollaborate with Engineering, Architecture, Security, Product, and other teams to implement engineering standards, reusable patterns, and technical best practices.\nSupport cloud adoption, application modernization, and application lifecycle improvements.\nIdentify technical and security risks and recommend appropriate remediation strategies.\nSupport application and API security activities, including penetration testing remediation, authentication and authorization, encryption, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and threat modeling.\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, design guidance, playbooks, and knowledge resources.\nResearch emerging technologies and technical approaches that may improve application and platform capabilities.\nCommunicate technical concepts and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nExperience in software engineering, application development, systems engineering, or a related technical discipline.\nStrong understanding of software engineering principles and modern application architecture.\nAbility to read, understand, and analyze application source code.\nExperience with Java preferred.\nExperience working with APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications.\nUnderstanding of application scalability, resiliency, maintainability, security, and performance principles.\nExperience with modern software development and delivery practices, including CI/CD and DevOps.\nExperience identifying technical risks, troubleshooting complex application issues, and recommending solutions.\nKnowledge of secure coding principles and secure software development practices.\nUnderstanding of application and API security, authentication and authorization, encryption, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, SSDLC, and threat modeling.\nExperience evaluating technologies, frameworks, and technical solutions.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.\nAbility to collaborate effectively across Engineering, Architecture, Security, Product, and other technology teams.\nExperience with Azure or other cloud platforms preferred.\nExperience within banking, financial services, or Digital Banking environments preferred.\nKnowledge of event-driven architecture, enterprise integrations, application modernization, and technical debt management preferred.\n** BRMi will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.**\n**This is a W2 opportunity only**\nEOE/Minorities/Females/Vet/Disabled\nWe are an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and commitment at all levels.
