You'll keep master control, live production, transmission and streaming systems running, and help the team build smarter, faster ways of working.\nThis role suits someone who solves problems on their own, picks up new tools quickly, and is curious about how AI and automation can make engineering work more efficient. You'll take daily direction from the Lead Engineer and grow into BMG projects beyond this facility.\nEssential functions\nIncluding, but not limited to:\nOperations and support\nProvide technical support for production facilities and keep all equipment running correctly\nSupport live transmissions and on-demand and live video streaming\nGo on remote shoots to provide technical support as needed\nPerform equipment maintenance outside planned programming windows\nMaster control\nHelp engineering build, load and verify the daily playout schedule in master control\nMaintain master control systems, including playout servers, automation, routing and on-air monitoring\nMonitor on-air output and respond quickly to playout, signal or automation faults\nSchedule maintenance windows around the program schedule so updates never affect air\nKeep master control documentation, procedures and change logs current\nTroubleshooting\nDiagnose and resolve signal, network and equipment faults quickly and methodically, often during live air\nEscalate clearly and early: notify the Lead Engineer of on-air issues while working the fix, with details to follow\nDocument root causes and fixes so recurring problems are prevented, not just repaired\nEfficiency and AI\nUse AI tools and scripting to speed up routine work such as log review, documentation, checklists and reporting\nIdentify repetitive manual tasks and propose ways to automate or streamline them\nHelp build and maintain clear runbooks, system documentation and knowledge-base articles\nAsset and inventory management\nManage the Asset Management System\nCheck equipment in and out of the building and maintain inventory logs\nGrowth\nAssist with planned system upgrades and expansion\nCross-train on other roles and train to work on BMG projects\nWho we're looking for\nSelf-starter:you see what needs doing and do it without waiting to be told, then report back\nTroubleshooter:you stay calm under live it\"\nAI-curious:you already use tools like ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot, or are eager to learn how they can help engineering work\nClear communicator:you keep your lead and production informed in real time, in plain language\nQualifications\nRequired\n1-3 years in broadcast engineering, live production, or a related technical role (or equivalent training)\nWorking knowledge of video and audio signal flow (SDI, IP video, embedded audio)\nBasic networking skills: IP addressing, VLANs, switches\nComfort using AI tools to research, document and solve problems\nAble to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends around live programming\nPreferred\nExperience with live streaming and transport (SRT, RIST, NDI) and OTT or CDN workflows\nFamiliarity with Ross Video, Grass Valley, Evertz, Dante or RTS intercom\nScripting experience (Python, Bash or PowerShell) or interest in automation\nExperience with asset management or inventory systems\nDegree or certification in broadcast technology, electronics, IT or a related
