In this Level 5 role, you are not just building pipelines; you are expected to run large-scale projectsthat define how Broadcom leverages agentic AI across its global hardware and software divisions.\nYou will operate at the intersection of two worlds: cutting-edge Generative AI(agents, RAG, vectorization) and high-scale Fullstack Development. As a Principal Engineer, you will be the technical authority responsible for the end-to-end delivery of agentic systems that bridge the gap between Broadcom's IT infrastructure and its core design engineering business units.\nKey Responsibilities\nProject Ownership & Leadership:Lead and execute high-impact AI initiatives from initial conception to global production, ensuring solutions are simple, scalable, and innovative.\n\nStrategic Engineering Interface:Act as the lead technical liaison between GTO and business units, translating high-level engineering challenges into next-generation agentic solutions.\n\nAgentic Framework Architecture:Define the long-term technical roadmap for AI orchestration, currently leveraging LangGraphwhile maintaining the flexibility to pivot as the pathway evolves.\n\nCross-Functional Technical Bridge:Marry production-grade Fullstack development with AI logic, setting the standard for how the organization builds non-deterministic software at scale.\n\nTeam Upleveling & Mentorship:Act as a technical multiplier, conducting formal design reviews, mentoring senior staff, and proposing fluid architectural options that advance the team's capabilities.\n\nInfrastructure Strategy:Partner with the infrastructure team to optimize the deployment of AI models and vector databaseswithin Kubernetesenvironments.\n\nStrategic Communication:Communicate complex AI roadmaps and project statuses clearly to both technical squads and executive stakeholders.\n\nQualifications\nEducation:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).\n\nExperience:Minimum of 12 years of Software Engineering experience, with a proven track record of leading and delivering complex, large-scale projects.\n\nGenerative AI Mastery:Expert-level experience in building agentic workflows, RAG architectures, and complex orchestration (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI).\n\nFullstack Expertise:Deep, hands-on experience in both frontend and backend development, with mastery of Pythonand modern enterprise-grade languages.\n\nData & System Architecture:Expert knowledge of vector databases(Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus) and the programming principles required to scale them.\n\nDeployment & Ops Knowledge:High proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, and modern CI/CD patterns to ensure AI agents are production-ready.\n\nEngineering Rigor:Expert in version control (GitHub), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and automated testing specifically tailored for AI outputs.\n\nPreferred Skills\nDemonstrated experience running cross-departmental projects in a fast-paced environment.\n\nExperience managing AI-driven automation for a mixed set of software and hardware assets.\n\nProven ability to conduct peer evaluations and formal design reviews that drive architectural excellence across an enterprise.\n\nAdditional Job Description:\nCompensation and Benefits\nThe annual base salary range for this position is $118,800 - $190,000.\nAs a valued member of our team, you'll be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and the opportunity to receive not only a competitive new hire equity grant, but also annual equity awards, connecting your success directly to the company's growth.
