If you already have a Candidate Account, please Sign-In before you apply.\nJob Description:\nProduct Applications Engineer (High Speed Interconnect Products)\nAre you looking for a great opportunity as a highly motivated and experienced HSIP product Applications Engineer?\nLeverage your background in hardware/software, systems, and technical applications engineering to provide support to Tier 1 customers, who are designing their products with Broadcom's phys.\nIn this position you will be required to become an expert in the architecture of our 100/400/800/1600/3200 Gigabit phys that allows Broadcom to sustain its market leading position. You will interface with both customers and our Field Applications Engineers supporting pre-sales activity and ensuring the successful launch of the finished products.\nFundamentally your role is to help secure customer design wins and assist customers in bringing their products to market rapidly and successfully. You will contribute directly to the success of the products and customers that you support. Responsibilities include:\n- Support of architecture and low-level hardware questions and issues\n- Pre-sales and post-sales support via email, phone, and customer visits\n- Documentation\n- Product definition and roadmap\n- Analysis of customer architecture and requirements\n- Debugging of complicated issues and problems\n- Board debugging and bring up\n- Schematic and layout design reviews\n- Training of customers and Field Applications Engineers\nYou will work directly with customers and must have good oral and written communication skills to interact with and support these customers. You will also work with a variety of internal employees in Hardware and Software Engineering, Architecture, Field Applications Engineering, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and senior management.\nWhile most work will be performed at Broadcom offices, some work will be done on customer premises necessitating travel.\nBroadcom offers a fast paced, exciting work environment that allows you to enjoy a variety of work tasks and advance your career as a quick learner and an industry-recognized performer.\nJob Requirements:\nBS, MS, or post-graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science).\nMinimum of 8 to 15+ years in relevant fields with a strong track record of success.\nYou should have experience and/or knowledge in most if not all of the following areas:\nApplications Engineering\n- Direct customer interaction and involvement\n- Project or time management skills\n- Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently\n- Ability to explain and train others on complex technology\n- Debugging of complicated problems or bugs\n- Hardware/software/firmware bring-up\n- Training of customers and/or FAEs\nArchitecture and Low Level Hardware/Software\n- Strong working knowledge of high-speed (100Gbps+) phy and SerDes\n- Experience with Ethernet system and standard is preferred.\n- Experience with 100Gbps/200Gbps/400Gbps optical system and standard is preferred. OTN experience is a plus.\n- Architecture, programming, or support of complex System on a Chip devices is a plus\n- Register level programming of complex devices\nPractical knowledge of C, C++, and Visual Basic is needed to modify/create simple function/script.\nHardware, high-speed SerDes, or system (board) experience is a plus.\nExperience with high-speed Signal Integrity issues is a plus.\nExperience with optical components and tester is a plus.\nExperience with PAM4 is a plus.\nShould be able to review PCB layout and schematic\nExperience using Ethernet traffic generator, High-speed scope, Jitter Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, and OTN tester is a plus.\nCommunications\n- Excellent written and verbal skills\n- Fluency (conversational and/or technical) in foreign languages is a plus\n- Strong presentation skills are desired\n- Excellent team-work skills\nOutstanding problem solving skills and great attitude are required for this position.\nCompensation and Benefits\nThe annual base salary range for this position is USD 143,800.00 To USD 230,000.00\nAs a valued member of our team, you'll be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and the opportunity to receive not only a competitive new hire equity grant, but also annual equity awards, connecting your success directly to the company's growth.
