Mainframe experience is desired, but it is not required.\nMainframe systems are at the heart of the digital economy, with 80% of the world’s structured corporate data residing or originating on mainframes, and 55% of all enterprise applications hitting the mainframe to complete transactions. Our industry-leading products are critical to many Fortune 1000 companies.\nThis position is responsible for leading others to create, curate, use, and deliver end-user technical documentation for high-tech IT audiences, which must be accurate and developed in an Agile team setting. Mentors others in producing accurate content that complies with standards and is audience appropriate.\nSkills & Competencies\nStrong project management skills\nAuthor, edit, test, and deliver content.\nAuthor audience-appropriate content.\nRevise and restructure existing content to improve usability.\nPerform independent research to understand a product and the needs of customers and stakeholders.\nCommunicate clearly and effectively with peers, colleagues, customers, and project teams.\nSet priorities and escalate issues appropriately.\nEffectively lead a writing team and coordinate communication with one or more project teams.\nProactively identify problems and propose solutions.\nDemonstrate mastery with tools including Adobe Experience Manager, Github, Microsoft Office, Confluence, Acrolinx, and other industry products and technology including operating systems, programming concepts, and source control.\nKey Responsibilities\nContent Creation and Management\nPartner with stakeholders, customers, and Agile teams to design, create, test, curate, and deliver accurate, clear, and concise technical content for one or more products that is appropriate for multiple audiences as part of multiple Agile teams.\nParticipate in peer reviews for your own and other's work.\nCollect, analyze, and share data to improve the customer's experience by improving the quality of a product's content.\nDefine and advocate for multi-year content roadmaps for one or more products.\nAdvocate for content the customer can find and use easily, including championing department initiatives to provide quality content (such as lean content).\nReview the user interface (UI), partner with user experience (UX) designers to suggest ways to make the UI intuitive, and provide content that can be embedded in the UI.\nMonitor and respond to customers using a variety of mechanisms to address customer feedback and ensure that content meets their needs.\nFunction as a subject matter expert for products.\nLeadership\nDevelop and implement efficient ways to manage work and overcome roadblocks to meet deadlines.\nResponsible for own professional growth and development by staying current with department and industry standards, by understanding products, customers, and competitors, by meeting training deadlines, and by setting challenging goals for growth.\nDemonstrate the flexibility to take on new products and assignments as business needs require.\nRepresent the company by attending, presenting, and exerting influence at Broadcom and industry conferences, symposiums, and standards bodies.\nCommunicate, collaborate, coach/mentor, and innovate with others in alignment with core values.\nLeverage partnerships with other departments (such as Education, Marketing, Product Management) to understand and improve the customer's experience.\nLead content initiatives across multiple Agile teams.\nMentor teammates, coordinate the work of multiple content authors when assigned as team lead, and help others manage their work and meet milestones.\nInteract with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their function and business needs concerning technical content\nEnable Agility\nBe a role model for Agile team participation by actively participating in all aspects of Agile development, including ceremonies, planning, and end of sprint demos.\nParticipate in setting, meeting, and reviewing team commitments for both Agile and writing teams.\nProactively drive improvements and solutions by using a well-developed understanding of assigned products, customers, competitors, standards, tools, and processes.\nTypical Role Definition Professional Staff\nProfessional Staff. Remote candidates need not apply.\nThis position is specifically located in the Broadcom office in Lisle, IL. \nEducation\nBachelor's degree in English, Technical Communications, Computer Science, or global 4-year equivalent in a related field is REQUIRED. Master's degree preferred; special consideration given to technical or engineering degree holders who can demonstrate composition and technical writing skills.\nWork Experience\nTypically 8 or more years in an industry-related role. Typically has worked in technical communication, technical support, system administration, or product development type roles with heavy exposure to engineering.\nCompensation and Benefits\nThe annual base salary range for this position is USD 90,000.00 To USD 144,000.00\nAs a valued member of our team, you'll be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and the opportunity to receive not only a competitive new hire equity grant, but also annual equity awards, connecting your success directly to the company's growth.
