You will play a key role in implementing and evolving the International Processing Engine (IPE) application, ensuring high-quality delivery against critical timelines.\nYou will combine strong hands-on engineering capability with technical leadership, supporting architectural decisions, driving engineering standards, mentoring colleagues, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to achieve sprint and programme objectives. You will be expected to maintain robust coding practices and use AI-assisted development tools appropriately to improve quality and productivity.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable back-end services, front-end components, and RESTful APIs for the IPE application.\nTake ownership of complex technical deliverables, including new capabilities, strategic enhancements, and high-priority production fixes, ensuring delivery against client commitments.\nContribute to solution architecture and technical design decisions, with a focus on scalability, resilience, performance, security, and maintainability.\nDrive high engineering standards through code reviews, technical governance, design discussions, and active knowledge sharing across the team.\nMentor and support developers, providing technical guidance and helping to build team capability across Java, full-stack engineering, testing, and delivery practices.\nDesign, build, and maintain comprehensive automated test coverage to support quality assurance, regression prevention, and reliable releases.\nChampion secure coding practices, including robust input validation, authentication, authorization, and secure handling of application data.\nInvestigate and resolve complex production issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable improvements.\nWork closely with product, delivery, quality assurance, and client stakeholders to clarify requirements, manage technical dependencies, and deliver solutions aligned with business priorities.\nSupport and enhance settlement-related workflows, including trade confirmations, reporting, books and records, and collateral management.\nContribute to the delivery of solutions across the securities trade lifecycle, including Debt, Equity, and Financing Transactions.\nPromote continuous improvement across development processes, CI/CD practices, deployment automation, and the effective use of AI-assisted engineering tools.\nRequired Experience and Skills\n5+ years of professional software development experience in Java, including Core Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.\nStrong SQL skills and experience working with large relational databases, including MS SQL Server and Sybase.\nStrong experience designing and delivering service-oriented or microservices-based back-end systems.\nDemonstrable full-stack development capability, including the ability to contribute to front-end components and back-end services. JavaScript experience is desirable.\nExtensive experience designing, building, and integrating RESTful APIs.\nProven ability to develop systems that process high data volumes and support real-time or time-sensitive workflows.\nExperience leading or materially contributing to technical design, code reviews, engineering standards, and complex problem resolution.\nStrong understanding of automated testing practices and the ability to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.\nExperience with source control, development, and delivery tools including Git, Eclipse, IntelliJ, Visual Studio, JIRA, and Confluence.\nStrong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.\nPreferred\nGood understanding of the securities trade lifecycle, including Middle Office and Back Office processes.\nKnowledge of settlements processing, trade confirmations, reporting, books and records, collateral management, and clearance/settlement workflows.\nStrong understanding of the software development lifecycle, from requirements through testing and user acceptance.\nFamiliarity with SAFe Agile, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.\nExperience with Docker and Kubernetes is desirable.\nPython experience is advantageous.\nHybrid Flexible at Broadridge\nWe are made up of high-performing teams that meet in person to learn and collaborate as needed.
