The role will coordinate tee sheets, course status, golf buggies, guest arrivals, rooms, functions, staffing and facilities so that members, visitors and event clients receive a consistent, high-quality experience.\nKey responsibilities include:\nLead and coordinate the operational department heads and their teams.\nConvert confirmed weddings, golf days, corporate events and accommodation bookings into well-planned operational delivery.\nOwn service standards, daily briefings, duty management, staffing efficiency and complaint resolution.\nEnsure effective working relationships between Pro Shop and bookings, outdoor golf operations, course maintenance, food and beverage, kitchens, reception, housekeeping and engineering.\nManage departmental performance and expenditure within approved budgets.\nMaintain strong controls across health and safety, food safety, licensing, fire safety, contractor management and operational compliance.\nProduce concise weekly reporting covering service, staffing, facilities, complaints, risks and agreed actions.\nCommercial strategy and sales remain with the Commercial & Growth Director; financial control and procurement remain with the Finance Director; HR policy and employee relations are supported by HR. The General Manager - Operations is accountable for operational leadership, people management and delivery across the estate.\nRequirements\nProven senior operational leadership experience within a golf resort, country club, luxury hotel, private members’ club or comparable multi-site hospitality operation.\nStrong working knowledge of both golf operations and hospitality, including food and beverage, events, guest accommodation and front-of-house service.\nDemonstrable experience leading several specialist department heads and building accountability across teams.\nConfident managing rotas, labour deployment, departmental budgets, suppliers, service standards and operational KPIs.\nPractical knowledge of health and safety, food safety, licensing and facilities or contractor management.\nCalm, visible and decisive leadership style, with the willingness to work across the estate and resolve issues at source.\nStrong written and spoken English, sound commercial judgement and the ability to communicate clearly with members, guests, employees and senior stakeholders.\nExperience with club, hotel, scheduling or workforce systems is desirable;
