You must have a passion for high street retail, a strong customer service background and together with the Store Manager the ability to drive change, continue to grow and develop the sales team and boost sales.\nThe role is to assist the Store Manager and ensure that Brompton Junction continues to offer an excellent customer experience and as the flagship store staff represent the brand to the best of their ability. The store must continue to grow and innovate through bike sales, workshop services and events at the store.\nYou should be a strong team player, a lover of customer service, with an intense desire to have a successful career in the retail industry. If you are looking for a company that offers support, recognition and progression coupled with a fun working environment, then this is the role for you!\nKey Responsibilities\nAlong with the Store Manager, day to day management of all aspects of the store ensuring that it is trading effectively is adequately staffed and that customers’ needs are being met.\nAlong with the Store Manager, day to day management of employees, including recruitment, attendance, motivation, welfare, training and development.\nManagement of any complaints and enquiries as they arise.\nPlan, forecast and report on sales, costs and overall business performance accurately and in a timely fashion.\nFollow the pricing policy set by Brompton, implementing price changes when notified.\nLiaise with Brompton to plan, implement and advertise promotional activities, including in-store bike maintenance courses, bike assembly demonstrations and all special events.\nEnsure that the store environment, especially the in-store displays and merchandising meet the company’s high standards and brand guidelines.\nPlan and implement shop merchandising, layout and customer traffic flow to maximise customers satisfaction and brand engagement, uphold the appearance of the store and the brands image, while observing health and safety requirements and facilitating sales.\nManage selling and customer service activities and practises by continually developing all the staff members’ competence in customer care, to optimise customer satisfaction and sustain sales performance.\nEnsure that in-store cash and payment systems are managed in accordance with the company’s procedures and policies at all times.\nManage costs and overheads, and all factors affecting the profitable performance of the shop.\nEnsure that in-store stock levels are maintained at all times by implementing regular, accurate stock checks and ordering systems to agreed levels.\nSupervise customer data in accordance with Data Protection legislation, and ensure that all information obtained in-store is also added to the database maintained at head office.\nEnsure that the store EPOS and other IT systems are used correctly, and that all store personnel receive adequate training to enable systems to run in the Store Managers absence.\nEnsure that all company and local security practices are followed and that an up to date key holders list is copied to head office.\nSeek and develop knowledge about competitor activity in the local area, especially on pricing and tactics, communicating this to relevant departments in Brompton, and identifying opportunities to promote the store.\nAttend meetings and contribute to company strategy and policy-making as required.\nDevelop personal skills and capability through on-going training, as provided by the company and elsewhere, subject to company approval.\nEnsure that you take care of your and others health and safety at all times, complying with health and safety obligations, in particular by reporting promptly defects, risks or hazards.\nEnsure that all employees are thoroughly trained in the health and safety procedures of the store, including risk assessments.\nCarry out any additional duties that may, from time to time, be required.\nPerson Specification:\nExperience:\nMinimum 3 years’ experience in a retail or customer-focused environment, with at least 1 year’s assistant management responsibility, is essential.\nDemonstrable experience of raising standards of customer service while driving retail sales is desirable, as is experience of working for a quality brand in a retail environment.\nSkills and Knowledge:\nA commitment to, and aptitude for, excellent customer service and maintaining high standards are essential.\nCompetence in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel programs to at least intermediate level is likewise required, as are selling and up -selling skills and an interest in cycling.\nPrior knowledge of Brompton products, either as a consumer or through working in the trade, and cycling as a regular means of transport/exercise will be viewed
