The company is privately-owned, successful, and profitable, and we have good relationships with our distributors and users.\nIf you have huge enthusiasm, thrive on being given responsibility and want to make great products that make a difference to people’s lives we can offer you a job you will not find anywhere else.\nThe Role\nThe Firmware Engineer role takes on the challenge of delivering robust embedded software for existing and future Brompton Electric products and will give you the opportunity to be involved in the full product lifecycle of our electric bikes, from prototype development to production and manufacturing.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign, test and maintain embedded software for Brompton Electric products\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and ship new features\nWrite clean, scalable and efficient code\nDebug and resolve technical issues\nParticipate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with team members as part of our agile software development process\nWho you are:\nEngineer with proven experience in developing embedded software applications\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills.\nProficient in C++\nHave experience with embedded communication protocols BLE, CAN, I2C, UART, SPI\nPreferably, have experience with functional safety development (ISO 13849 or ISO 26262)\nPreferably, have experience with electric motors/inverter drives\nPreferably, have experience with RTOS-based application development\nOptionally, have used Python for developing tools\nOptionally, have experience with security for embedded applications\nHave used CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Docker)\nComfortable with version control systems (e.g. Git).\nAn awareness of Health and Safety law and best practice.\nHave the right to Work in the UK.\nWhy Brompton?\nBecause we make bikes that surprise and delight, we want people who do the same.
