In this role, you will lead day-to-day internal and external communications for the U.S. and Canada office businesses within BGRE, the real estate operating platform that manages assets on behalf of Brookfield. You will also support PR efforts for other BGRE sectors, as well as assist with BGRE’s global internal and external communications. If you are committed to excellence and ready to contribute to a dynamic culture, we would love to meet you.\nRole & Responsibilities:\nLead day-to-day property-related public relations, including reactive media inquiries and proactive announcements (e.g. leases and development milestones) for BGRE’s U.S. and Canada office businesses, and assist on PR for other BGRE sectors as needed\nAssist in the creation and execution of media strategies for major property assets\nOversee internal communications for BGRE’s U.S. and Canada office teams\nDraft internal and external announcements, key messages, and other written content to support the telling of real estate stories to key audiences to advance business goals and protect our reputation\nBe a key player in the internal communications function, acting as point person on internal announcements\nProvide counsel to senior executives on communications opportunities, messaging and issues\nPrepare and staff senior executives for speaking engagements and media interviews as warranted\nAssist the Head of Communications to coordinate internal and external communications across global regions and real estate sectors\nDevelop and maintain relationships with journalists from relevant publications\nAt times, act as media spokesperson\nHelp manage external PR agency teams\nLead or support community relations in areas where we operate, including developing and maintaining local and civic relationships, driving strategic community initiatives and building coalitions\nAssist the Head of Communications to manage U.S. government relations efforts, including helping to build and nurture relationships with public officials, monitoring public policy issues, and liaising with relevant industry and civic groups\nSupport media monitoring processes\nPartner with regional Communications teams to ensure alignment of messaging and PR strategies\nYour Qualifications:\n7+ years of experience in PR/Communications\nTrack record of acting as a communications advisor through demonstrating an understanding of key business drivers, communications knowledge and judgment\nAbility to architect media relations strategies and speak directly to reporters\nSuperb writing skills\nUnderstanding of global media contexts and dynamics\nExperience managing and mitigating reputational issues\nExperience handling community-related and/or municipal issues in dense, active cities\nStrong project management and organizational skills\nStrategic thinker, with the ability to balance both the strategic and tactical\nSolid judgment and good instincts\nCapable of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously, under tight time constraints\nCapable of self-directed work, entrepreneurial, hands-on, but also a team player\nCollaborative, flexible and open to ideas\nYour Career @ Brookfield:\nAt Brookfield, your career progression is important to us.
