The team engages across the broader universe of Brookfield businesses and its senior leaders to assess and advise on risks and operational efficiency over key processes. IA reports directly into the Audit Committee and Board of Directors, and the work positively impacts its employees, investors, shareholders, and business partners.\nDue to continued growth within Brookfield, we are looking for motivated individuals to join our team in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment.\nResponsibilities\nWorking under the direction of the Vice President, the Director supervises and provides guidance to the audit team and is responsible for leading the internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) program of Brookfield Asset Management (NYSE, TSX: BAM). Additionally, the Director might contribute to audits and advisory engagements supporting the asset management business.\nThe primary responsibilities are:\nManaging the end-to-end execution of the Company’s ICFR program to comply with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) by identifying key business processes, conducting walkthroughs, developing process and control documentation and providing guidance to control owners\nLeading the annual risk assessment and financial statement scoping exercise\nOverseeing the testing program to evaluate the design, implementation, and operating effectiveness of key control activities\nWorking with control owners to investigate control gaps or deficiencies, assess severity, and provide practical recommendations to address findings and strengthen internal controls\nReporting the status of testing, deficiencies, and remediation progress to IA and Finance leadership, and preparing consolidated program updates for senior stakeholders\nEstablishing and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders including senior management, control owners and external audit teams\nDeveloping and mentoring junior staff members and overseeing outsourced service providers, as applicable\nAdditional responsibilities might include:\nContributing to internal audit planning by assisting in risk assessments, developing audit scopes and preparing planning documentation\nDeveloping audit procedures tailored to key risks\nPerforming or overseeing engagement fieldwork activities including gathering and evaluating evidence, assessing process and control effectiveness, and identifying control deficiencies or operational improvement opportunities\nDrafting clear, well-supported audit findings and reports that articulate issues, root causes, and impact assessments, and providing economic and practical recommendations for management\nValidating the remediation of issues by reviewing evidence submitted by action owners, confirming closure, and updating issue-tracking logs\nSupporting the annual risk assessment process and other group strategic initiatives, as needed\nCandidate Profile\nWe seek team members whose values align with our attributes of a Brookfield Leader: Entrepreneurial, Collaborative and Disciplined.
