The successful candidate will be a self-starter that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent interpersonal skills, is detail oriented, experience in managing a team of high performing staff, possesses a high degree of intellectual curiosity, and has a strong foundation in finance and accounting.\n Responsibilities:\nThe responsibilities for this position would include, but not be limited to:\nReview quarterly financial reporting to investors and other users, including financial statements prepared under US GAAP, as well as fund and investment performance metrics\nReview NAV packs (and other working papers) prepared by external fund administrators to ensure accuracy and completeness\nManage fund capital activity, liquidity and forecasting\nPresent quarterly significant transactions to senior management\nCoordinating various external service providers to ensure information being provided to investors is accurate and timely\nWorking with internal and external auditors and maintaining appropriate control documentation\nDevelop a thorough understanding of the complex legal structures of the various funds and the related impact on funds flows and consolidation\nAssist with analysis of complex accounting treatments\nDevelop and implement process improvements, including leveraging AI and other emerging technologies to enhance the efficiency, accuracy and scalability of finance and reporting processes\nPeople management and development\nSpecial projects & ad hoc requests as required\nRequirements:\nUniversity degree (business or accounting an asset)\nProfessional accounting designation (CPA/CA)\n3+ years of progressive work experience in finance and/or accounting functions\nExperience in private funds and knowledge of the investment management industry, and experience dealing with complex ownership structures would be an asset\nDemonstrated leadership and initiative\nExcellent analytical, and problem-solving ability\nExemplifies the right motivation by aspiring to achieve collective goals\nAbility to work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, to adapt quickly and to manage changing priorities\nSuperior communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills\nStrong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines\nStrong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel, with an interest in and demonstrated ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and enhance financial analysis and reporting\nSelf-motivated and proactive, with respect to both managing workload and professional development\n\nCompensation: 95-110k\nPosition Opening Reason:\nNew PositionBrookfield is committed to maintaining a Positive Work Environment that is safe, respectful; our shared success depends on it.
