the role : \n\nThe Software Engineer (Backend) is part of the Engineering team and reports to the BE Lead.\n\nResponsibilities : \n\n- Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable backend services and robust APIs.\n\n- Define and implement robust API contracts to ensure seamless data integration with consuming services (e.g., frontend applications).\n\n- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance of backend systems, data pipelines, and database queries.\n\n- Architect, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS services, focusing on scalability and reliability.\n\n- Document system and service configurations and procedures.\n\n- Review code rigorously, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality and maintainability.\n\nRequirements : \n\n- Experienced professional : At least 3 years of experience developing scalable backend systems using object-oriented languages such as Python, Java, or Go.\n\n- Deep experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and management (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).\n\n- Solid understanding of system architecture, distributed systems, and designing for performance, security, and high availability.\n\n- Proven experience designing, building, and documenting RESTful and/or gRPC APIs.\n\n- Strong experience with Django and Django REST Framework for developing scalable backend applications and RESTful APIs.\n\n- Strong experience with AWS cloud for infrastructure management and service deployment.\n\n- Experience implementing robust monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions for production environments.\n\n- Microservices : Skills in design, develop, and deploy containerized microservices on AWS platforms like ECS or Fargate, ensuring independent scalability and agility.\n\n- Automation champion : Belief in \"code over manual\", and implementation of automation tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to streamline provisioning, deployment, and management of infrastructure and microservices.\n\nNice to haves : \n\n- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools.\n\n- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker.\n\n- Experience with message queuing or streaming systems (e.g., Kafka, SQS).\n\n- Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest backend technologies and trends.\n\nSkills\nBackend
