This role provides an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge robot designs, motion control systems, and advanced automation technologies while building a strong foundation in robotics and controls engineering.\nThe Controls Engineer I will contribute to the development, testing, characterization, and support of robot control systems. Under the guidance of senior engineers, the candidate will gain hands-on experience with motion control algorithms, robotic system performance evaluation, software development, and laboratory testing.\nResponsibilities\nSupport the tuning and optimization of robot motion control parameters.\nAssist in characterizing servo performance, system stability, throughput, and payload vibration.\nPerform design verification testing and collect performance data.\nAssist with software configuration, testing, release activities, and documentation.\nDevelop tools and scripts for automated data collection and analysis using MATLAB and other engineering tools.\nSupport troubleshooting of controls, software, electrical, and electromechanical system issues.\nParticipate in laboratory testing using dynamic signal analyzers and other instrumentation.\nContribute to the development and improvement of robot control algorithms.\nWork closely with mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, and systems engineers.\nSupport customer and manufacturing issue investigations as needed.\nRequired Skills\nWe are looking for an enthusiastic, hands-on engineer with strong analytical skills and an interest in robotics and automation.\nKnowledge of control theory and dynamic systems through coursework, research, internships, or project experience.\nExposure to robotics, mechatronics, motion control, or related disciplines.\nBasic programming experience in C/C++.\nFamiliarity with MATLAB or similar engineering analysis tools.\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to learn complex electromechanical systems quickly.\nStrong written and verbal technical communication skills.\nExperience using laboratory equipment is a plus.\nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.\nEducation & Experience\nBSEE, BSME, BS Robotics Engineering, or related engineering degree with 0 to 2 years of experience.\nMS degree with relevant coursework or research experience is a plus.\nCompensation\nBase Salary Range: $76,526.52 USD to $103,535.88 USDFactors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.\nThis position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.\nBenefits\nAt Brooks, we offer the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:\nMedical, Dental, Vision and Disability Insurance\n\n401(k) Plan\n\nExempt employees are provided company paid holidays and Flexible Vacation to enjoy personal time off and incidental sickness.\n\nHave a question about our benefits and compensation package?
