This engineer will work with a team in the development of Robot and Automation System controls solutions. Key responsibilities will include working with a team on Component Engineering, lifecycle management and supply chain risk mitigation.\nThe ideal candidate will have strong expertise in component obsolescence management, SiliconExpert, BOM health analysis, alternate part qualification, and technical component evaluation. This role will work closely with Electrical Engineering, PCB Design, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Suppliers to ensure long-term product sustainability and component availability.\nIn a typical week, the priorities for the individual and the team are defined in our on-line project system. Long-term development projects will progress, a question or issue may arise from a customer or from our operations team requiring a quick investigation and response, input at multiple design reviews may be given, and hands on prototyping or testing may be done in our labs.\nWork Location: Onsite - Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAbility to learn complex systems quickly and work independently\nComponent Lifecycle management and identify risks related to End of Life (EOL), Product Change Notification (PCN), Last Time Buy (LTB) and supply chain disruptions\nPerform lifecycle risk assessment using tools like SiliconExpert\nPerform detailed Bill of Material (BOM) scrubs using SiliconExpert and supplier databases to identify Obsolete components, Not Recommended for New Designs (NRND) parts, single-source risks, compliance concerns and Supply chain vulnerabilities\nEvaluate Alternate components for form, fit and function compatibility and create detailed technical comparison reports between original and alternate components\nFamiliarity with Agile and creating new components in Agile with consistency on part descriptions, technical parameters, manufacturer information, lifecycle data and compliance information\nCompliance and Regulatory support including RoHS, REACH, Conflict materials and Tariffs.\nSupport Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Material Change Orders (MCOs)\nQualifications & Competencies:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field\n3-5 years of hands-on experience on component engineering, SiliconExpert, Lifecycle management, BOM analysis and scrubbing and alternate component validation\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and external suppliers\nAbility to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment and build productive relationships with stakeholders across multiple regions\nComfortable collaborating with geographically dispersed teams across different time zones\nFlexible and willing to attend occasional early morning or evening calls to support global projects and stakeholders, including regular interaction with a U.S.-based manager and team members\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment\nSelf-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail\nOccasional travel, Work Location & Flexibility\nAt Brooks, we aim to foster a collaborative and engaging environment while offering flexibility where possible.
