In our electrical engineering team, one will find a culture of Collaboration, Learning, Cross Training, Respect for each other’s Talents, Constructive Design Reviews, Customer Focus and Integrity.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO:\nWe are looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Engineer or Mechatronics Engineer eager to integrate into our culture and be a key team contributor. This engineer will work with a team in the development of new generation controls solutions and engage in analyses of complex field and manufacturing challenges. The candidate will draw upon control and robotics theory to support our electrical drive designs, analyze and implement new motor applications, and contribute to servo control tuning.\n\nThe candidate will apply knowledge of robot dynamics and kinematics, systems modeling, digital filtering and control theory to design motion control algorithms and tune/optimize parameters on robot hardware, characterize performance, stability, throughput, payload vibration, motor temperature, perform design verification testing, software configuration, and documentation/release.\n\nResponsible for ensuring proper documentation, consistent use of processes and systems, and engineering design standards are followed. Must be capable of working collaboratively with mechanical and software engineers on complete product solutions.\n\nIn a typical week, the priorities for the individual and the team are defined in our on-line project system. Long-term development projects will progress, a question or issue may arise from a customer or from our operations team requiring a quick investigation and response, input at multiple design reviews may be given, and hands on prototyping or testing may be done in our labs.\n\nWHAT YOU'LL BRING:\nBSEE with 4+ years of experience, or MSEE with 2+ years of experience.\n\nKnowledge of control theory, dynamic systems, robotics theory, vibration analysis.\n\nIncluding but not limited to related coursework, experience or research in controls, dynamic systems, or robotics.\n\nExperience in FOC and BLDC controls.\n\nStrong knowledge of electromechanical systems, including motors, actuators, sensors, electronics, and microcontrollers.\n\nCompetency in MATLAB (controls toolboxes a plus, object-oriented preferred).\n\nSpice modeling and analysis, or equivalent.\n\nComponent selection and data sheet interpretation.\n\nHandy in the use of standard lab equipment and tools.\n\nPrototyping and debugging circuits in a lab.\n\nStandard Windows applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).\n\nOccasional travel, \n\nAbility to learn complex systems quickly and work independently.\n\nGood troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\n\nStrong technical communication and presentation skills.\n\nCompetency in Altium preferred.\n\nCompensation\nBase Salary Range: $110,621.72 USD to $149,664.68 USDFactors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.\nThis position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.\nBenefits\nAt Brooks, we offer the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:\nMedical, Dental, Vision and Disability Insurance\n\n401(k) Plan\n\nExempt employees are provided company paid holidays and Flexible Vacation to enjoy personal time off and incidental sickness.\n\nHave a question about our benefits and compensation package?
