This engineer will work with a team in the development of Robot and Automation System controls solutions for Brooks Automation.\nKey responsibilities will include working with a team on PCB designs for System and Robot controllers. Work will include technical presentations and cross-functional Design Reviews. You will be responsible for ensuring proper documentation, consistent use of processes and systems, and engineering design standards are followed. Additionally, this person must be capable of working collaboratively with mechanical and software engineers on complete product solutions.\nWork Location: Onsite - Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahr u.\nKey Responsibilities:\nCreate and maintain PCB layouts using Altium Designer.\nInterpret schematics and convert them into manufacturable PCB designs.\nDevelop multilayer PCB designs considering signal integrity, power integrity, thermal management, EMI/EMC, and manufacturability.\nPerform component placement, routing, fan-out, copper pours, and design optimization.\nGenerate fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, Gerber files and manufacturing documentation.\nDefine and maintain PCB layer stack-ups in collaboration with PCB fabrication vendors.\nPerform Design Rule Checks (DRC) and ensure compliance with company standards and industry’s best practices.\nWork closely with electrical engineers to resolve layout-related issues and optimize board performance.\nSupport prototype builds, design reviews, debugging, and engineering change orders (ECOs).\nInterface with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to resolve manufacturing issues.\nMaintain component libraries, footprints, and PCB layout standards.\nParticipate in schematic reviews and provide layout recommendations during the design phase.\nAny other duties as assigned.\nQualifications & Competencies:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field\nMinimum 3-5 years of hands-on PCB layout experience\nStrong expertise in Altium Designer and Gerber viewing tools\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment, balancing multiple priorities and stakeholder requirements\nStandard Windows applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)\nFamiliarity with IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-7351)\nExpertise on Altium symbols and footprints creation and library maintenance\nComfortable collaborating with geographically distributed teams across different time zones\nFlexible and willing to attend occasional early morning or evening calls to support global projects and business needs, including regular interaction with a U.S.-based manager and engineering team\nStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to delivering high-quality PCB designs within project timelines\nSelf-motivated and capable of working independently while proactively communicating project status, risks, and technical concerns\n#LI-MV1\n#LI-Onsite\nWork Location & Flexibility\nAt Brooks, we aim to foster a collaborative and engaging environment while offering flexibility where possible.
