Join us at Brooks Automation and be a part of a dynamic organization that is shaping the future of technology.\nNPI BuyerJob Description\nPOSITION SUMMARY:\nThe NPI Buyer will work primarily to support the buying and planning responsibilities for a variety of materials, used in complex product designs in an engineering design environment. Work assignments range from tactical to complex, requiring motivation, discretion, independent judgment and diverse problem-solving methods.\nKey responsibilities:\nCreate and manage purchase orders and requests for quotes to include technical documents, pricing, delivery and key milestones to ensure on-time receipt of material.\nTransform MRP demand signals into planned orders to create confirming Purchase Orders using appropriate and approved Inventory planning rules and guidelines.\nDevelop and maintain PFEP (Plan for Every Part) by reviewing engineering and pre-production BOMs and driving required actions.\nDrive component readiness to support engineering builds, prototypes, DV/PV builds, pilot production, and product launches.\nExpedite critical materials and coordinate recovery actions to prevent schedule impacts.\nAnalyze, adjust and optimize product and component inventory levels to coincide with design project schedules and/or manufacturing demand and lead time changes.\nSupport Engineering in management for design projects, engineering BOMs, engineering change orders (ECO) and supplier-initiated action requests (SIARs). \nWork collaboratively with Commodity Management to align sourcing strategies, mitigate risk, and negotiate optimal purchase agreements.\nMaintain the integrity of MRP parameters (lot/ order size, lead time and safety stock). \nCoordinate with Supplier Quality on quality issues to ensure immediate intervention and resolution. \nInteracts with suppliers to ensure appropriate support and execution of NPI deliverables. \nManage the creation and coordination of outside process reowork orders\nOther duties as assigned. \nOther elements included in this role:\nCreate and manage purchase orders and requests for quotes to include technical documents, pricing, delivery and key milestones to ensure on-time receipt of material\nAnalyze, adjust and optimize product and component inventory levels to coincide with design project schedules and/or manufacturing demand and lead time changes. Able to understand and respond to MRP signals including maintenance of MRP parameters (lot/ order size, lead time and safety stock).\nCoordinate with Supplier Quality on quality issues to ensure immediate intervention and resolution\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or equivalent experience.\n3+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, supply chain, manufacturing, or a related field.\nExperience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI), engineering builds, or product development programs preferred.\nWorking knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, inventory planning, and procurement processes.\nAbility to review and analyze engineering BOMs, drawings, and technical documentation.\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and drive timely solutions.\nExperience collaborating with suppliers to manage delivery, quality, cost, and schedule commitments.\nStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across global regions and time zones.\nHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced development environment.\nSelf-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to work independently while supporting remote stakeholders.\nAble to attend some occasional night and early morning meetings with the US Team\nWork Location & Flexibility\nAt Brooks, we aim to foster a collaborative and engaging environment while offering flexibility where possible.
