As we continue to push the capabilities of robotics inside semiconductor fabs, we are looking for someone who is excited by both technology and manufacturing automation.\nThe Procurement Engineer - Contract Manufacturing plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliable, cost-effective supply of mechanical build-to-print components, OEM parts, and commercial items through external manufacturing partners.This role combines strong technicalexpertise-interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications-with commercial acumen to drive sourcing andpurchasingdecisions in a fast-paced CM environment.\nPartnering closely with contract manufacturers, engineering, quality, and operations teams, the Procurement Engineer develops and manages localized and regional supply bases to improve cost, reduce lead times, and mitigate supply risk.The role is also actively involved in supplier qualification, value-engineering initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance total cost of ownership, quality, and delivery performance across the contract manufacturing network.\nWork Location: ONSITE - Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru.\nKey Responsibilities:\nStrategic Sourcing & Procurement\nManage end-to-end procurement activities for mechanical build-to-print parts, OEM components, and standard commercial items.\n\nReview and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and bill of materials to ensureaccuratesourcing and supplier capability alignment.\n\nIdentify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to localize sourcing and reduce reliance on overseas supply.\n\nConduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and cost/lead-time benchmarking.\n\nCost Management & Negotiation\nLead pricing negotiations to achieve competitive cost, favorable commercial terms, and long-term cost reductions.\n\nPerform cost breakdown analysis for mechanical components tovalidatequotes and ensure pricing fairness.\n\nDrive continuous cost improvement initiatives through alternate sourcing, value engineering, and supplier productivity programs.\n\nSupplier Relationship & Performance Management\nDevelop strong working relationships with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, quality performance, and responsiveness to demand changes.\n\nMonitor supplier performance (OTD, quality, cost) and work with cross-functional teams on corrective actions whenrequired.\n\nPartner with suppliers to secure capacity, reduce lead time, and resolve supply disruptions proactively.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Planning teams to support new product introductions and material readiness.\n\nSupport engineering changes by coordinating technical reviews, re-quotations, supplier alignment, and implementation timelines.\n\nLiaise with Production/Planning to ensure materials availability and resolve procurement-related escalations.\n\nAny other duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications &Competencies:\nDiploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or related technical field.\n\nMinimum 3-5 years of procurement experience in precision machining, mechanical assembly, build-to-print manufacturing, or similar environment.\n\nStrong technical understanding of mechanical drawings (GD&T preferred) and machining/metal fabrication processes.\n\nProven negotiation skills withthe abilityto drive cost reductions and secure competitive supplier terms.\n\nExperience in supplier localization and onboarding of new vendors.\n\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.\n\nGood communicationand stakeholder management skills.\n\nMust be willing to travel internationally asrequired(15-20%)\n\nDesirableSkills:\nKnowledge of machining cost modelling, tooling, and material cost drivers.\n\nExperience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle,Netsuite, etc.).\n\nFamiliarity with ISO/AS quality standards and supplier audit processes.\n\nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.\n\nAbility to speak Mandarin and/or German language will be an added advantage.\n\nWork Location & Flexibility\nAt Brooks, we aim to foster a collaborative and engaging environment while offering flexibility where possible.
