Join us at Brooks Automation and be a part of a dynamic organization that is shaping the future of technology.\nRobotics Software EngineerJob Description\nRobotics Software Engineer\nBrooks is looking for a Software Engineer as we accelerate our growth journey.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\nDevelop embedded software for new and legacy products within the Robotics Automation Group to control robot motion, interface with vacuum chamber sub-systems, and perform self-diagnostics.\nDesign, implement, and maintain robotics and motion control software for advanced automation systems.\nDevelop and optimize robot motion capabilities including trajectory generation, multi-axis coordination, synchronization, and performance tuning.\nContribute to EtherCAT-based distributed control architectures and industrial networking solutions.\nCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, product management, and customers to define and implement new product features.\nDevelop and communicate software requirements and design changes to peers; participate in design reviews.\nEnsure reliable and high-quality software through development and automated testing best practices.\nActively participate in Zero Defects initiatives to improve our DevOps software development process; research and evaluate process improvements and new tools.\nCollaborate on the design of test equipment and setup of robotic hardware or systems.\nSupport manufacturing and field service engineers in investigating and troubleshooting field issues (remote or on-site).\nWHAT YOU'LL BRING\nProficiency in programming C++11 or later.\nExperience with embedded real-time systems under a multi-threading and interrupt driven environment, such as QNX or Real-Time Linux.\nExperience applying object-oriented design best practices.\nExperience working as part of a team following modern software development practices (SDLC), working with revision control tools, using remote debuggers, and following software release processes, ideally in an Agile environment.\nExperience with robotics software development, machine automation, or industrial control systems.\nExperience with robotics, kinematics/dynamics, motion planning, motion control systems, or servo control architectures.\nExperience with EtherCAT software stacks, industrial networking, or distributed control systems.\nExperience in one or more of the following would be a plus,\n Experience working with customers to address field issues.\nExperience with robotics applications in semiconductor or industrial automation environments.\nExperience with FPGA-based systems and hardware/software integration.\nFamiliarity with Python, JavaScript, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages.\n\nCompensation\nBase Salary Range: $94,280.13 USD to $127,555.47 USDFactors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.\nThis position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.\nBenefits\nAt Brooks, we offer the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:\nMedical, Dental, Vision and Disability Insurance\n\n401(k) Plan\n\nExempt employees are provided company paid holidays and Flexible Vacation to enjoy personal time off and incidental sickness.\n\nHave a question about our benefits and compensation package?
