Design\nLead the mechanical design and development of vacuum robots.\nDesign precision electromechanical systems, motion platforms, end effectors, and material handling mechanisms.\nDevelop innovative solutions that meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost objectives.\nGenerate engineering specifications, verification plans, risk assessments, and design documentation.\nDrive product development through Brooks' stage-gate product development process.\nTechnical Leadership\nServe as a technical lead for significant development projects.\nMentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across project teams.\nLead design reviews and engineering tradeoff analyses.\nCollaborate with software, controls, electrical, and systems engineering teams to optimize system performance.\nSupport strategic technology roadmaps and platform development initiatives.\nEngineering Analysis\nPerform and review:FEA with Ansys: Structural, modal, Thermal and CFD\nTolerance stack-up analysis\n\nDevelop analytical models and test methods to validate design performance.\nNew Product Introduction\nPartner with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure successful product transfer into production.\nSupport prototype builds, qualification testing, and production ramp activities.\nDrive Design for Excellence (DFX) initiatives including:Design for Manufacturing (DFM)\nDesign for Assembly (DFA)\nDesign for Reliability (DFR)\nDesign for Cost (DFC)\n\nCustomer & Applications Support\nInterface directly with customers to understand application requirements and resolve complex technical issues.\nSupport evaluation of new customer opportunities and custom applications.\nParticipate in customer reviews and field investigations as required.\nSustaining Engineering & Continuous Improvement\nLead resolution of field issues and root cause investigations.\nDrive reliability, quality, and cost reduction projects.\nManage component obsolescence and supplier change activities.\nEvaluate and implement product enhancements based on customer feedback and operational data.\nSupplier & Partner Collaboration\nWork closely with key suppliers and manufacturing partners.\nEvaluate component technologies and emerging robotics solutions.\nSupport supplier qualification and design reviews.\nRequired Qualifications\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.\nMaster's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline preferred.\nExperience\n8+ years of experience designing robotics, automation equipment, or precision electromechanical systems.\nExperience developing products from concept through production release.\nExperience integrating mechanical systems with controls, sensors, actuators, and embedded software.\nExperience leading technical projects or acting as a subsystem owner.\nSemiconductor capital equipment experience strongly preferred.\nTechnical Skills\nExpert knowledge of:Precision mechanical design\nMotion control systems\nRobotics and automation equipment\nBearings, motors, actuators, and drive systems\nMaterial handling systems\nMechanisms and kinematics\n\nProficiency with:3D CAD tools (Creo preferred)\nGD&T\nFEA and simulation tools\nEngineering change management systems\nProduct lifecycle management tools\n\nLeadership Competencies\nStrong technical problem-solving skills.\nDemonstrated ability to influence technical direction across teams.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced development environment.\nStrong collaboration and customer-facing skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with semiconductor wafer handling robotics.\nKnowledge of vacuum-compatible mechanical systems.\nFamiliarity with ISO, SEMI, CE, UL, and relevant industry standards.\nExperience with systems engineering methodologies.\nExperience with agile product development environments.\nExperience leading global cross-functional development teams.\nSuccess Measures\nWithin the role, success is measured by:\nDelivery of product performance, cost, schedule, and quality objectives.\nSuccessful to innovation, intellectual property generation, and technology roadmaps.\nCompensation\nBase Salary Range: $118,265.18 USD to $160,005.83 USDFactors which may affect starting pay within this range
