Secure payments on risks bound or written, \nReview, analyze and underwrite risks submitted by Producers, rate submissions for premium and terms, analyze exposures for quotes for new and renewal business, issue written indications, quotes and binders; use inspection companies to obtain further information, quote rates, or explain company underwriting policies, \nMarkets and meets with retail agency customers to develop business and cultivate relationships to grow a book of business, \nUnderstand and extend Company facilities, utilizing binding authorities or brokering risks when required to successfully negotiate a placement; be responsible for your underwriting results, \nSee that coding on specific required forms is completed and utilized, \nService and perpetuate existing business, produce new business, and have a keen awareness of priorities, \nInstruct and train processors and assistants, review indications, quotes, binders, submissions and policies for completeness and accuracy, \nProvide guidance and training to the processors and assistants, to enable them to reduce the underwriter's clerical workload, and to develop basic underwriting and brokering skills and techniques \nFoster and improve relationships with other departments, producers, companies and competitors, \nLicenses and Certifications:\nCIC or CPCU candidate, thorough familiarity with applicable ISO manuals, forms, rating plans, policy forms i.e. coverages, exclusions, conditions and terms. \nP&C State license and E&S license \nSkills & Experience to Be Successful:\nBachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university is desired or five years insurance experience, two years of which is as an underwriting assistant. \nProficient with MS Office Suite and paperless environment \nExceptional telephone demeanor \nExperience with excess and surplus lines underwriting agency or company. \nThis position requires routine or periodic travel which may require the team member to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle.
