See how your contributions will help transform vision into reality:\nPosition Overview:\nAs a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer you will be a member of a team of analysis engineers supporting the design and development of conventional marine internal combustion engines, drive systems, electrified propulsion and vessels. In this role you will be responsible for conducting detailed/comprehensive simulations using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software as detailed below.\nAt Brunswick, we have passion for our work and a distinct ability to deliver.\nEssential Functions:\nConduct detailed/comprehensive simulations using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software such as Siemens Simcenter STAR-CCM+, Ansys Fluent and/or other similar commercial software’s to model fluid behavior and heat transfer mechanisms.\nPerform comprehensive multiphase hydrodynamic analysis of propellers, drives, and boats using advanced CFD tools to simulate multiphase flow scenarios, including gas-liquid, liquid-liquid, gas-solid, liquid-solid, and gas-liquid-solid interactions.\nWork closely with design and development engineers to help provide design inputs and perform trade-off studies that will improve the product. This includes evaluating different design options and assessing their impact on performance, weight, cost, and recommending the best solutions.\nCollaborate with test engineers to specify the necessary testing and instrumentation required to validate analysis results. This includes designing test plans, selecting appropriate sensors, and ensuring accurate data collection.\nWork independently when needed to develop innovative solutions. Additionally, they must be adept at collaborating with cross-functional groups, including design, development, and test engineers, to achieve project goals.\nCoordinate work packages between onsite and offshore teams. This includes managing project timelines, ensuring clear communication between teams, and maintaining high standards of quality and consistency in deliverables.\nDocument analysis findings and share results with stakeholders, engineering partners, and leaders. This includes preparing detailed reports, presenting findings in meetings, and providing actionable recommendations based on analysis results.\nIdentify potential areas for new method development and work with experts to test and deploy.\nContinuously seeking opportunities for improving analysis processes, tools, and methodologies.\nDiversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.\n2+ years of experience performing CFD analysis using SIEMENS Simcenter STAR-CCM+, Ansys Fluent or similar commercial software.\nStrong fundamental understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.\nExposure to numerical methods and engineering analysis.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in the following areas: Conjugate Heat Transfer (CHT) analysis, Multiphase and Phase Change analysis, Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI), Dynamic, Moving and Overset mesh, Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH)\nCAD experience with Creo and Ansys SpaceClaim\nUsage of High-Performance Computing (HPC) cluster with Linux OS\nKnowledge of test instrumentation (strain gauges, accelerometers, thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, etc.) \nThe anticipated pay range for this position is $73,600 - $117,900 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus program. At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role.
