Join us and make a difference too!\nAI Technical Specialist\nLocation: US- Remote / Home-based\nAbout the Role\nBSI is expanding its Artificial Intelligence Notified Body and is looking for an experienced AI Technical Specialist to join our AI Conformity Assessment team.\nYou will use your technical expertise in AI and machine learning to support the assessment of AI-enabled products and software across industries including medical devices, robotics, and biometrics. You will also help shape the tools, processes, and training that support BSI's growing AI conformity assessment capabilities.\nKey Responsibilities\nReview technical documentation and assess AI systems against applicable regulatory requirements and standards.\nSupport AI conformity assessments and provide technical guidance to clients and internal teams.\nParticipate in client meetings and support CE marking and certification activities.\nProvide AI technical expertise, mentoring, and guidance to colleagues.\nSupport the development of AI assessment procedures, tools, training, and testing methodologies.\nParticipate in internal projects developing and testing AI tools to enhance BSI's assessment processes.\nSupport accreditation, quality, and continuous improvement activities.\nIdentify opportunities to apply AI expertise across BSI's services and processes.\nAbout You\nYou'll ideally have:\nA Bachelor's degree equivalent in AI, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, Medical Device Software, or a related discipline.\n4+ years of post-graduate experience in AI/ML model development, ideally within a regulated industry or research environment.\nKnowledge of AI regulations, standards, and relevant guidance.\nExperience in at least two AI/ML areas, such as deep learning, neural networks, supervised/unsupervised learning, classification, regression, fuzzy logic, probabilistic methods, optimization, LLMs, or biometrics.\nKnowledge of software development lifecycles and risk management.\nStrong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.\nThe ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across a global, multidisciplinary team.\nBSI are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this vacancy\nBSI offers a competitive total reward package, an independent and varied job in an international environment, flexible working hours, ongoing training and development with the inclusion of 20-days annual leave, bank holidays, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401(K) with company contribution, short-term and long-term disability, maternal leave, paid parental leave, paid bereavement leave, learning and development opportunities, and a wide range of flexible benefits that you can tailor to suit your lifestyle.\nThe salary for this position can range from $119,400 to $140,000 annually; actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s competencies, level of experience, education, location, divisional budget and internal peer compensation comparisons.\nDo you believe the world deserves excellence?\nWe are proud to be the business improvement company for other organisations to become more sustainable and resilient and finally to inspire trust in their products, systems, services, and the world we live in.\nHeadquartered in London, BSI is the world's first national standards organization with more than 100 years of experience.
