The role is intended for someone who has experience working directly with clients and regulated facilities and who can manage multiple assignments from fieldwork through technical reporting. Primary work may include stormwater and wastewater, spill prevention planning, hazardous and solid waste, chemical inventory and reporting, environmental compliance assessments, air permitting and compliance, and development of practical compliance solutions. Experience with safety compliance or EHS auditing is beneficial, but the primary focus of the role is environmental consulting. Candidates must have prior environmental consulting experience.\nEHS Consultant Responsibilities:\nSupport environmental compliance and consulting projects for industrial and commercial clients\nInterpret and apply federal, state, and local environmental requirements to client operations\nPrepare and support environmental permit applications, plans, reports, inventories, and compliance documentation\nConduct site visits, records reviews, and environmental compliance assessments to identify regulatory obligations, compliance gaps, and practical corrective actions\nManage assigned projects and tasks to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations\nPrepare clear, accurate, and client-ready technical reports and other deliverables\nCommunicate directly with clients, regulatory agencies, and project team members as appropriate\nCollaborate with colleagues across environmental, health, safety, and management systems disciplines\nSupport client relationships and contribute to follow-on work and repeat business\nExpand capabilities in safety compliance and EHS auditing through project experience, mentoring, and training\nSkills & Abilities:\nSolid working knowledge of environmental compliance requirements in the following areas: air, water, stormwater, wastewater, spill prevention, hazardous waste, solid waste, chemical reporting, and hazardous materials management\nAbility to research regulatory requirements and translate them into practical, site-specific recommendations\nAbility to plan field activities, organize information, and develop technically sound written deliverables\nStrong technical writing, verbal communication, and client service skills\nAbility to manage multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines with appropriate attention to detail\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with project managers and multidisciplinary teams\nWillingness to learn additional environmental, safety, and auditing disciplines \nQualification & Experience:\nBachelor's degree in environmental, civil, chemical, geological, or related engineering; environmental science; geology; chemistry; or another related technical discipline\nThree to eight years of professional environmental consulting experience\nProfessional experience working for an environmental consulting firm is required\nDemonstrated experience supporting regulated industrial or commercial clients\nExperience preparing environmental permits, plans, reports, or compliance deliverables in one or more environmental media\nExperience with environmental compliance assessments or regulatory audits is preferred\nExperience with OSHA compliance, safety programs, or broader EHS consulting is preferred\nProfessional certification or licensure (PE, PG, CHMM, CPEA, CSP), or progress toward a relevant credential, is preferred\nTravel requirements:\nAbility and willingness to travel approximately 25% to 50%\nValid driver's license and ability to travel by vehicle and commercial air as project needs require\nWhat we offer:\nBSI offers a competitive salary, group-sponsored health and dental, short-term and long-term disability, a company-matched 401k plan, company paid life insurance, 11 paid holidays and 4 weeks paid time off.\nThe salary for this position can range from $102,000 - $125,000 annually;
