Join us and make a difference too!\nJob Role: Test Engineer - Construction Products\nLocation: Hemel Hempstead, On-site\nJob Type: Permanent, Full-time, 36 hours p/w\nSalary Range: From £32,000 - £35,000 + bonus + excellent benefits.\nAs a Test Engineer in our construction products laboratory, you'll work with specialist lab equipment to evaluate products against both British and International standards. You'll carry out hands-on mechanical testing, operate sophisticated test rigs, investigate product performance and help ensure construction products are fit for their purpose.\nA Test Engineers day will typically include:\nSetting up and configuring test equipment\nPreparing construction products for testing\nRunning mechanical and performance tests\nAnalysing test results\nMaintaining laboratory equipment\nLiaising with colleagues and customers\nContributing ideas to improve testing methods and equipment\nKey responsibilities:\nCarry out physical and performance testing of construction products\nPrepare samples and set up test equipment and rigs correctly\nRun tests safely, consistently and in line with procedures\nRecord results accurately and maintain clear, traceable test records\nWrite test reports\nSupport routine checks, calibration activities and upkeep of equipment\nWork in accordance with our quality management system (ISO 17025)\nContribute to continuous improvement of methods, equipment and ways of working\nAssist with the laboratory Lean 5s improvement program\nTo be successful in the role, you should possess the following:\nA minimum of HNC/HND or equivalent in a Mechanical Engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience in a test environment\nGood communication skills and the ability to write clear and concise reports\nPositive customer focused approach to work and communication with colleagues\nGood level of computer literacy and working knowledge of MS Office or equivalent\nStrong writing skills - to write clear and concise reports\nAble to follow defined processes precisely and produce clear, accurate records\nAbility to work as an individual and as part of a team to tight time scales\nKnowledge or familiarity of Lean culture and tools\nKnowledge of 17025 is advantageous\nBSI offers a competitive total reward package, an independent and varied job in an international environment, flexible working hours, ongoing training, and development with the inclusion of Annual Bonus, Contribution Based Pension, Private Healthcare, 27 Days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays, Income Protection & Life Assurance.\nD&I Policy\nBSI is committed to ensuring the diversity of our workforce reflects that of our clients and the communities in which we operate.
