You work within the architecture set by the Lead AI Engineer, take feature specifications and deliver production-quality implementations: a chunking strategy module, a guardrail model integration, an embedding pipeline stage, a RAGAS metric computation job. You are expected to work independently within scope - take ownership, write tests, benchmark your work, and ship to the Lead's quality bar. You have built ML or AI features in production before. You know that a model that scores well in a notebook evaluation is not done - it needs to be packaged, served, monitored, and maintained. You are comfortable with the full lifecycle from experiment to production deployment.\n\nRole & responsibilities :\n\nRAG & Knowledge Retrieval :\n\n- Build and optimise enterprise-grade RAG pipelines for accurate knowledge retrieval\n\n- Develop document ingestion, indexing, embedding, and retrieval workflows\n\n- Implement hybrid search, re-ranking, and citation-based response generation\n\n- Improve retrieval quality, relevance, and scalability across large knowledge bases\n\nAI Safety & Guardrails :\n\n- Implement PII detection, data protection, and content redaction controls\n\n- Integrate prompt injection, toxicity, and misuse detection mechanisms\n\n- Build AI guardrails to ensure safe, compliant, and trustworthy responses\n\n- Develop automated response quality and faithfulness evaluation frameworks\n\nMemory & Knowledge Management :\n\n- Design and implement long-term AI memory frameworks\n\n- Build user, agent, and organisational knowledge retention capabilities\n\n- Develop knowledge graph and graph-based retrieval solutions\n\n- Optimise context management through intelligent summarisation and memory retrieval\n\nEvaluation & Optimisation :\n\n- Define and implement AI evaluation metrics and testing frameworks\n\n- Create and maintain golden datasets for model validation\n\n- Conduct experiments to improve retrieval, reasoning, and response quality\n\n- Drive continuous performance optimisation through benchmarking and analytics\n\nPlatform Engineering : \n\n- Design scalable, production-ready AI services and APIs\n\n- Optimise latency, throughput, reliability, and cost of AI workloads\n\n- Build monitoring, observability, and auditability for AI systems\n\n- Collaborate with platform, data, and product teams to deliver enterprise AI solutions\n\nAgentic AI & Multi-Agent Systems :\n\n- Design and develop autonomous AI agents and multi-agent workflows\n\n- Build orchestration frameworks for planning, reasoning, and task execution\n\n- Implement agent memory, tool calling, and decision-making capabilities\n\n- Enable enterprise-scale deployment, governance, and monitoring of agentic solutions\n\nSkills and Experience Required :\n\nSystems Architecture :\n\n- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.\n\n- Knowledge of event-driven systems using Kafka and NATS.\n\n- Skilled in REST APIs, real-time communication, API security, JWT, rate limiting, and resilience patterns.\n\nLLM Orchestration & Agentic AI :\n\n- Experience building AI agents using LangChain and LangGraph.\n\n- Skilled in single-agent and multi-agent workflows, including ReAct, Planning, and Tool-Use patterns.\n\n- Strong understanding of prompt engineering, context management, memory, and multi-LLM integration.\n\nPython & AI/ML Stack :\n\n- Strong programming skills in Python, FastAPI, and Pydantic.\n\n- Experience with NLP and AI frameworks including SpaCy, Sentence Transformers, PyTorch, and Hugging Face.\n\n- Knowledge of ONNX, LoRA/QLoRA fine-tuning, vLLM, LangChain, LangGraph, and RAGAS.\n\nRetrieval & Search :\n\n- Experience designing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.\n\n- Skilled in document chunking, embeddings, vector databases, and Elasticsearch (BM25).\n\n- Knowledge of hybrid search and cross-encoder re-ranking techniques.\n\nEvaluation, Safety & Responsible AI :\n\n- Experience with AI evaluation frameworks such as RAGAS and DeepEval.\n\n- Skilled in benchmarking, LLM-as-a-Judge, and human-in-the-loop evaluation.\n\n- Knowledge of AI safety, prompt injection prevention, red teaming, and industry safety benchmarks.\n\nData Platforms :\n\n- Experience with PostgreSQL, pgvector, and Redis.\n\n- Knowledge of Kafka for event streaming and data processing.\n\n- Skilled in building and working with Neo4j knowledge graphs.\n\nSkills\nPython, RAG, LangChain, LangGraph, FastAPI, PyTorch, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Artificial Intelligence, NLP, LORA","description_format":"text","description_chars":4502,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Telecommunications","Broadband"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-25T14:00:00Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"GB","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"Licensed UK visa sponsor (Senior or Specialist Worker, Skilled Worker)","filings_12m":null,"filings_prev_12m":null,"green_card_filings_12m":null,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":"Global Business Mobility: Senior or Specialist Worker;
