Working within our Platform Operations organisation, you will focus on reliability, automation, security and operational excellence, helping to deliver resilient services for our customers while supporting BT International's transformation towards a modern Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) operating model.\nThis is an excellent opportunity to work closely with engineering, product, supplier, and operational teams to improve platform reliability, drive automation, and support BT International's transition toward modern platform operations and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.\nWhat you will be doing (Role Accountabilities)\nSupport and improve BT International's critical infrastructure platforms across on-premises, VMware, Azure and AWS environments.\nMonitor, maintain and optimise platform availability, performance and security to deliver reliable customer services.\nInvestigate and resolve incidents, lead service restoration activities, and support problem management to prevent recurring issues.\nDrive automation and continuous improvement through scripting, tooling and operational best practices.\nCollaborate with engineering, product, supplier and operational teams to improve platform resilience, observability and operational readiness.\nSupport infrastructure projects, platform upgrades and technology transformation initiatives as BT International continues its journey towards a modern Platform Operations and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) model.\nCreate and maintain operational documentation, standards and technical knowledge to support service excellence and operational efficiency.\nWhat you’ll need to succeed (Skills & Experience)\nExperience supporting enterprise-scale Windows Server and VMware environments.\nKnowledge of Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) platforms.\nStrong understanding of infrastructure, virtualisation, networking and cloud technologies.\nExperience managing incidents, problem resolution and service restoration within a 24x7 operational environment.\nExperience with automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python or similar technologies.\nStrong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.\nUnderstanding of infrastructure security, patching, vulnerability management and compliance controls.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across technical and business teams.\nA customer-focused mindset with a passion for reliability, continuous improvement and operational excellence.\nRelevant industry certifications in Microsoft, AWS, Azure or VMware are desirable.\nBT Group’s Behaviours\nCustomer First- Prioritize customer needs in every decision and action.\nChallengers- Challenge the status quo and bring innovative ideas to life.\nCommitted- Own outcomes and deliver with integrity.\nClear- Communicate openly and simply, ensuring alignment.\nConnected- Collaborate across teams to achieve shared goals.\nJoin us at a pivotal moment for BT Business.
