The Network Engineer designs, manages, and administers networks and systems, including servers (physical and virtual). Responsibilities include assessment, design, implementation, configuration, documentation, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, usage monitoring, and the development of specialized procedures for systems. This role is also responsible for capacity planning, tuning, system monitoring, system performance, and problem resolution across all aspects of the infrastructure.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nInstall, configure, maintain, and manage network devices (including firewalls, switches, wireless), servers, and their associated operating systems.\n\nEvaluate and recommend procurement of network devices, servers, peripheral equipment, and systems monitoring/alerting software.\n\nInvestigate problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test, and implement solutions.\n\nGuide complex issues from identification to resolution across different departments, clients, employees, and systems.\n\nTroubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.\n\nInvestigate, recommend, and install enhancements and operating procedures that optimize network/system availability.\n\nDocument system problems and resolutions for future reference.\n\nParticipate in and contribute to the planning and execution of business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities.\n\nContribute meaningfully to organizational processes, teams, and products.\n\nAdhere to organizational processes and procedures.\n\nWork independently while also collaborating effectively as a team member.\n\nExhibit initiative and drive to complete tasks promptly, while adapting to change management processes with proper planning.\n\nCommunicate effectively with clients, internal teams, and leadership.\n\nDemonstrate leadership qualities and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.\n\nComplete special projects or other duties as assigned.\n\nAvailability for occasional off-hour, evening, weekend, and overtime work is required.\n\nParticipation in a cyclic on-call rotation and carrying an on-call phone is required.\n\nOccasional travel to remote data centers within the United States is required.\n\nAssist in the migration of on-premises systems to AWS.\n\nDesign and implement AWS architecture solutions that meet business requirements, including potential use of Infrastructure as Code.\n\nSet up and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using AWS CloudWatch, AWS Config, and third-party tools.\n\nEnsure cloud infrastructure complies with security standards and best practices.\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS infrastructure and applications.\n\nExperience with the use of VMware ESXi, vCenter, and vSphere.\n\nPalo Alto Firewall administration.\n\nExperience with Cisco devices, including Nexus core switches and perimeter defense mechanisms.
