In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the future of clinical diagnostics by contributing to the development and validation of cutting-edge microbiology and molecular diagnostic solutions. You’ll work on integrated systems-including industry-leading platforms such as BACTECTM, KiestraTM, CORTM and PhoenixTM -all connected through our SynapsysTM Informatics Solution, helping to transform how laboratories deliver patient care.\nWe are looking for a detail-oriented, collaborative scientist with a passion for improving healthcare through innovation. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on clinical laboratories and the patients they serve, while advancing your professional development in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nApply clinical microbiology expertise to ensure our products meet real-world customer needs.\n\nDesign and execute laboratory experiments with minimal oversight to support product development and validation.\n\nCollaborate cross-functionally with R&D Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, and Service to improve diagnostic solutions.\n\nAuthor and review technical documentation, including validation protocols.\n\nSupport troubleshooting efforts and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nStay current with advancements in clinical microbiology and related technologies.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Medical Technology, or a related field (required).\n\nMinimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory, specifically bacteriology benchwork; familiarity with molecular technologies and platforms is a strong plus.\n\nSolid understanding of clinical microbiology principles and laboratory practices.\n\nStrong laboratory skills, including experimental design, data analysis, and troubleshooting.\n\nProficiency with standard software tools (e.g., Excel, Word, databases).\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nExperience with BACTEC™, Kiestra™, COR™, Phoenix™, MAX™, SynapsysTM, and similar diagnostic platforms is a strong plus.\n\nExperience with technical writing and validation documentation is highly desirable.\n\nPrior experience in product testing or validation studies is a plus.\n\nA proactive, team-oriented mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow.\n\nWorkplace Arrangement\nThis is a full-time, on-site position based at our Sparks, Maryland location.\n\nWhy Join Us?\nTo find purpose in the possibilities, we need people who can see the bigger picture, who understand the human story that underpins everything we do.
