In this role, you will safely transport and deliver building materials and products to customer locations while providing outstanding customer service and representing our company with professionalism.\nThe ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a strong safety record, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries, and building positive relationships with customers. This position offers the opportunity to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment committed to operational excellence.\nKey Responsibilities\nSafely operate Class B commercial vehicles to transport and deliver products to customer job sites, businesses, and residential locations.\nLoad, secure, transport, and unload materials in accordance with company policies and DOT regulations.\nVerify delivery orders, inspect products for accuracy, and obtain customer signatures or proof of delivery.\nManeuver vehicles safely into loading and unloading areas while ensuring proper positioning of equipment and materials.\nAssist customers with unloading materials while taking precautions to protect products, equipment, and customer property.\nServe as a professional company representative by providing exceptional customer service and addressing customer concerns in a courteous and timely manner.\nMaintain accurate delivery records, mileage logs, inspections, and required transportation documentation.\nComplete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.\nUtilize handheld devices and electronic systems to maintain compliance with Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) and Hours of Service (HOS) requirements.\nPerform product return pickups, credit returns, and related documentation as needed.\nOperate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load and unload products safely.\nFollow all safety procedures, regulations, and company policies while promoting a culture of workplace safety.\nParticipate in safety meetings and training programs.\nSupport warehouse, yard, and delivery operations as assigned.\nQualifications\nRequired\nValid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).\nValid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.\nMust be at least 21 years of age.\nMinimum of one (1) year of delivery driving experience.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Card within five (5) days of request.\nAbility to meet company motor vehicle record (MVR) standards, including fewer than five moving violations within the past five years.\nAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.\nBasic math and measurement skills.\nPreferred\nTwo (2) or more years of CDL driving experience.\nExperience delivering building materials, lumber, roofing products, or other construction-related materials.\nForklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.\nKnowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle inspections, and cargo securement practices.\nPhysical Requirements\nFrequently lift, carry, and maneuver materials weighing up to 100 pounds.\nOccasionally lift or move up to 200 pounds with assistance and appropriate equipment.\nAbility to bend, kneel, crawl, climb, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.\nAbility to safely enter and exit commercial vehicles multiple times daily.\nAbility to operate vehicle controls and maintain full visibility while driving and maneuvering equipment.\nAbility to load, secure, and unload products safely at customer locations.\nWork Environment\nThis position works in a combination of driving, warehouse, yard, and customer-site environments.
