Gathers bids to outsource necessary work. Prioritizes repair/improvement issues and opportunities with approval from VP of Manufacturing.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nAll activities below must be coordinated with the local plant/location manager and/or have VP approval:\nRequisitions and issues tools, equipment, and supplies that are plant equipment related.\nRequisitions work from outside services or vendors for projects that require specific expertise or capabilities.\nInspects work areas and production schedules to determine type of work, materials, equipment and labor requirements for completion of “equipment” “project”.\nInspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.\nInterprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.\nEstablishes or adjusts work procedures to meet schedules.\nSuggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.\nAnalyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.\nOperates equipment such as forklifts, crane, bulldozers and graders, and trains workers in equipment operation.\nPerforms activities of workers supervised as needed.\nReviews installation equipment orders or schedules to ascertain resources necessary to complete project on time.\nPlans and implements equipment and facility design upgrades and maintenance.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nSupervises employees in the maintenance department of location when working onsite equipment project. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\n\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. \nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) \n6 months to 1 year of experience in a relevant lead role AND 5 years of maintenance experience\nEquivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nCOMPETENCIES\nLanguage Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.\nMathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.\nPlanning/Organizing: Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Sets goals and objectives; Organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; Develops realistic action plans.\nReasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\nComputer Skills: Web/internet research on equipment specs and email outlook.\nCertificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Must complete BFS safety training.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITY\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
