This may include supervision of the plant, shop, windows, or yard. This position is for supervisor employees who spend at least 50% of their time performing supervisory work (not the work of the subordinates).\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nInspects work areas to determine type of work required and materials and equipment to be used.\nSchedules and directs workers in projects such as window, door, trim, or panel manufacturing.\nInterviews and selects hires to ensure that department is fully staffed for production needs.\nTrains workers in equipment operation.\nStudies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.\nApplies company policies and ensures compliance with safety regulations.\nInterprets job orders to workers and assigns duties.\nEstablishes or adjusts work procedures to meet schedules.\nRecommends measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, and quality of product.\nSuggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.\nAnalyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.\nInitiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.\nMaintains time and production records.\nConfers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nIs responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the production area. Directly supervises laborer workforce. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\n\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
