This position is responsible for surveying, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining Window and Sliding Glass Door products. This position reports to the Service Department Manager.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nLocates sources of problems by observing windows and sliding glass doors in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.\nRemoves defective parts by dismantling devices; using hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.\nDetermines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.\nAdjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.\nMaintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.\nConserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.\nProvides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.\nPrepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.\nMaintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.\nMaintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.\nOther duties may be assigned\n\nThis position will:\nConduct service/repairs, assist with warranty issues, and file warranty reports with vendors.\nProvide on-site assistance to help troubleshoot and repair products.\nInvolve frequent/daily use of ladders and lifting 50+ pounds.\nPlan and coordinate activities concerned with investigating and resolving customer reports of problems.\nReview performance reports and documentation from customers and sales representatives and inspect malfunctioning or damaged products to determine nature and scope of problem.\nAnalyze review and inspection findings to determine source of problem, and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective action.\nMaintain high accuracy in performing service work on product per work order specifications. \nProvide a communication link between the customer and the Company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer.\nBack up other maintenance technicians as needed.\nInform supervisor of any shortages in stock, or of any malfunctions or damage to equipment or vehicles. \nRestock incoming supplies, keep tools and machinery clean and maintained, and is responsible for all tools assigned to truck.\nMaintain truck by keeping it clean and organized.\n\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\n\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
