You'll work alongside experienced engineers, contribute to meaningful projects and learn how software actually moves from idea to production. By the end of the internship, you'll have sharpened your technical skills, gained real engineering experience and shipped code that changes the way the world builds.\nWhat you will do:\nDesign, develop, test and maintain software applications that support Buildertrend's platform.\n\nPartner with Software Engineers, Product Managers and QA to take features from concept to release.\n\nWrite clean, well-documented code using languages and frameworks within Buildertrend's tech stack.\n\nBuild and improve features that directly impact how customers manage their projects.\n\nParticipate in code reviews to strengthen your code quality and learn from senior team members.\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues with guidance and mentorship from Senior Software Engineers.\n\nContribute to Agile ceremonies, including standups, sprint planning and retrospectives.\n\nUse AI-assisted development tools, including Claude, to accelerate coding, debugging and problem-solving workflows while still being responsible and accountable for the quality and accuracy of your work.\n\nComplete assigned tasks and projects within established sprint timelines.\n\nWho you are and what you need:\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.\n\nAvailable to work full-time onsite at the Buildertrend HQ in Omaha, NE, for the full summer.\n\nStrong interest in Software Engineering and a desire to grow your skills.\n\nExperience using AI tools (such as Claude, GitHub Copilot or similar) in coursework or personal projects, or a strong interest in learning how to use them effectively.\n\nFamiliarity with programming languages such as C#/.NET, Java, and React.\n\nUnderstanding of modern software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.) is preferred\n\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.\n\nClear and effective written and verbal communication skills\n\nComfortable working independently and as part of a team.\n\nEager to learn, ask questions and apply feedback constructively.\n\nWe are giving you:\nOffice environment with all the perks of a high-energy tech company.\n\nFree daily lunches at the office.\n\nSummer housing at a local university - you can skip the summer housing search and focus on the experience.\n\nOnsite fitness center to keep you feeling your best.\n\nNo weekend hours - just work hard Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.\n\nMonthly events to connect other interns and Buildertrend employees.\n\nWho we are:\nGreat builders don’t just manage projects - they run successful businesses.
