solutions and drive projects from design through production.\nContribute to shared platform services used across the organisation.\nDrive system design reviews and help raise the overall engineering bar.\nProactively identify complex engineering challenges such as race conditions, ordering guarantees, and blast-radius risks before they reach production.\nInstrument services for observability and own alerting for the systems you build.\nCommunicate technical risks, trade-offs, and timelines clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nUse AI tools to accelerate development while critically validating and taking ownership of the output.\nMentor engineers and build reusable engineering patterns that improve the team's overall productivity.\nRequirements:\n4-6+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.\nStrong proficiency in Java with Spring Boot or equivalent JVM-based backend frameworks.\nStrong understanding of system design fundamentals, including: Distributed transactions, Idempotency, Event-driven architecture, Caching, Fault tolerance.\nHands-on experience working with relational databases and message queues in production.\nWorking knowledge of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.\nExperience with container-based deployments.\nAbility to instrument services and own observability and alerting.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical trade-offs and risks.\nStrong Signals:\nCandidates with the following experience will stand out:\nExperience in FinTech, payments, or transaction-heavy platforms, particularly where correctness is critical.\nExperience designing idempotency, retry mechanisms, and reconciliation flows from scratch.\nEvidence of proactive engineering thinking through: Design documents, RFCs, Post-mortems, Open-source
