But before acceleration, we need architectural depth.\nWe are looking for a Staff Engineer who cares deeply about:\n\nDesigning systems that scale 10x and 100x\n\nFailure domains and blast radius reduction\n\nHigh availability and reliability engineering\n\nClean abstractions and long-term maintainability\n\nArchitecture that enables speed, not blocks it\n\nWhat You Will Do\nLead architecture, design for high-scale systems across payments, EDC, credit, and merchant platforms\n\nDesign for multi-region expansion and high transaction volumes\n\nEstablish and elevate system design review standards\n\nDrive platform thinking across squads\n\nIdentify scaling bottlenecks before they hurt\n\nReduce operational burden through thoughtful abstractions\n\nMentor engineers and grow them\n\nYou will work directly with engineering leadership and influence product decisions where system design matters.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\n8+ years building and scaling backend distributed systems\n\nDeep understanding of system design fundamentals (consistency models, caching strategies, event-driven architecture, fault tolerance, data modeling at scale)\n\nExperience with microservices and/or modular monolith architectures\n\nHands-on expertise with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)\n\nStrong intuition for performance tuning and observability\n\nComfort operating in ambiguity while raising engineering bar\n\nBonus Points\n\nExperience in fintech or transaction-heavy platforms\n\nExperience scaling systems across regions\n\nPrior Staff/Principal-level impact in high-growth environments\n\nWhat Makes This Role Different\nAt large tech companies, you optimize a slice of a mature system.
