This role focuses on Windows server administration, Active Directory, virtualization, backup and recovery, storage systems, endpoint management, and technical troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Windows-based systems, server and storage technologies, backup platforms, and systems automation. The candidate should also possess excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to proactively maintain reliable, secure, and efficient IT systems that support business operations.\nKey Responsibilities:\nWindows Server Administration: Install, configure, maintain, patch, and troubleshoot Windows servers. Monitor system health, review performance, evaluate new features and versions, and recommend improvements to the server environment.\nActive Directory and Identity Management: Administer Windows Active Directory, including user accounts, security groups, organizational units, Group Policy, permissions, and related authentication services. Support certificate management and other identity- related systems as needed.\nBasic Scripting & Automation:\nWrite and modify basic scripts using Python or PowerShell to streamline routine tasks, such as account creation, software installation, and system updates. Help automate other IT workflows to reduce manual intervention.\nTechnical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve all levels of IT issues related to hardware, software, and networking. Escalate complex problems to direct manager or other IT team members.\nSystems Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor system availability, performance, capacity, and security. Apply updates, identify potential issues, participate in maintenance activities, and help ensure reliable operation across the company’s systems environment.\nDocumentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for technical processes, scripts, and IT procedures.\nWho You’ll Work With:\nAs part of the IT team, you’ll collaborate closely with HR, managers, and other departments to ensure a seamless employee experience. You’ll serve as a primary resource for Active Directory, Windows servers, virtualization, backups, and systems administration while working alongside a motivated and solution-oriented IT team that values communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement.\nWhat You Bring:\nStrong problem-solving skills with attention to detail\nExperience with onboarding/offboarding processes and IT equipment setup\nBasic scripting knowledge in Python or PowerShell\nFamiliarity with common operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux)\nAbility to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently\nExcellent communication skills with a customer-first attitude\nAbility to communicate complex technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders\nDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams\nAdaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes\nStrong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities\nExperience with Proxmox VE for server virtualization and management is a plus, demonstrating ability to manage virtual machines, containers, storage, and networking within a virtualized environment.\nRole Requirements\nHands-on experience administering Windows servers, including installing, configuring, updating, and troubleshooting.\nAbility to write and modify basic automation scripts (Python or PowerShell)\nTechnical troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve all levels of IT issues related to hardware, software, and networking.\nExperience installing, configuring, and maintaining infrastructure devices including Dell servers, Cisco switches, Grandstream access points, Opnsense firewalls, and Synology NAS.\nKnowledge and experience with Windows Active Directory and related certificate management are important for authentication and network security.\nPhysical Requirements:\nThe majority of time will be spent in an office environment with prolonged sitting at a desk/table, using a computer.\nCarry on a conversation and perform work in an open environment with some background noise.\nA moderate amount of time will be spent in a warehouse environment and could have varying temperatures.\nOccasional pushing, pulling and lifting objects up to 40 lbs.\nAperture is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it.
