We own the end-to-end order lifecycle, orchestrating a hybrid matching engine that combines a Central Limit Order Book with proprietary Automated Market Making. Our high-throughput APIs enable trading across Spot, Futures, and Options. The work demands absolute correctness in managing complex financial state transitions, translating intricate market structures into scalable solutions.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign and deliver reusable, reliable, low-latency Java code that powers the Exchange.\n\nRaise the bar on code quality, organization, and automation as the system scales under load.\n\nProfile and resolve performance bottlenecks in the order-processing path.\n\nImprove stability through automated tests at the unit, integration, and performance layers.\n\nCollaborate across a distributed team of engineers, product managers, and project managers.\n\nWhat You'll Bring\nStrong Java (17+) fluency with experience in performance tuning.\n\nTrack record of designing and building systems for high throughput and low latency.\n\nHands-on experience with agentic AI development: LLM integration, prompt engineering, and SDLC automation.\n\nSolid understanding of middleware and messaging technologies such as Chronicle Queue, RabbitMQ, Aeron, and Kafka.\n\nWorking knowledge of Spring or Micronaut, Docker, and Kubernetes.\n\nDeep knowledge of testing methodologies, SDLC practices, and CI/CD pipelines.\n\nOwnership of the components the Exchange depends on.\n\nNice to Haves\nExperience working on core trading functionality such as order matching and orderbook generation.\n\nFamiliarity with financial derivative products (Options, Futures), the FIX protocol, and related workflows.\n\nUnderstanding of blockchain technologies.\n\nBullish is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
