If you value ownership, growth through real responsibility, and working with a thoughtful, ambitious team, this role might be for you.\nYour Role\nbunch is around 155 people across Berlin, London, and Amsterdam, and Luxembourg, on the way to roughly 200 in 2027. That means four legal entities, four payroll providers, different sets of people systems to reconcile, different compliance environments.\nRight now our People operations run 50% on effort. We want them to run mostly on systems. We also want our people data to be trustworthy enough that headcount, attrition, and hiring numbers are the same in every room they're quoted in.\nThis person will own the operational and data backbone that the rest of the People function depends on.\nYour role\nTake full, end-to-end ownership of core People Operations topics - including onboarding, offboarding, contracts, leaves, absence, payroll, immigration cases and documentation - from decision-making through execution.\n\nDesign, build, and roll out automated, AI-supported workflows and integrations across our tools - including Personio (HRIS) and Notion - to eliminate manual work and connect our systems.\n\nCoordinate monthly payroll across Germany, the UK and the Netherlands and in the near future, Luxembourg, with our external providers. You own data accuracy, deadlines and the provider relationships - the providers own the processing.\n\nMaintain the compliance calendar and the documentation behind it, working with external counsel where local employment law is involved.\n\nManage and support our full workforce across multiple contract types and locations, ensuring correct setup, documentation, and ongoing administration for each.\n\nBe the first line for employee questions on policy, contracts, leave and benefits - and steadily reduce that volume by making the answers self-serve in our handbook.\n\nOwn the documentation and record-keeping behind employee relations cases: case files, timelines, correspondence.\n\nProactively identify gaps and inefficiencies in our People Operations processes, and independently drive improvement projects from idea through implementation.\n\nMaintain accurate, up-to-date HRIS data as a reliable single source of truth, and support strategic reporting and people analytics to inform business decisions.\n\nAbout You\n5+ years of experience in People Operations or HR administration, ideally in a fast-paced, international or scaling startup environment\n\nProven end-to-end ownership of operational topics across the employee journey\n\nA strong track record in automation, including designing and implementing workflow integrations or AI-supported solutions in an HR or operations context\n\nStrong data literacy: you can build reliable reports, spot inconsistencies and investigate until the numbers are trustworthy\n\nExperience supporting a varied, international workforce across different contract types, legal entities, locations and working models\n\nKnowledge of German employment law and compliance requirements; UK or Luxembourgish employment law is a plus\n\nPayroll coordination experience with external providers in at least one European country, owning accurate inputs, deadlines and provider relationships\n\nHands-on ownership of an HRIS - Personio ideally, or a comparable system you have configured and maintained - plus confidence connecting tools such as Notion to build efficient workflows\n\nExcellent judgment and communication skills, with the ability to act as a trusted advisor to employees, managers and senior stakeholders\n\nFluency in English; German is a plus.\n\nYour mindset\nOwn it: You take responsibility for outcomes, manage competing priorities and keep your work, decisions and commitments clearly documented and on track\n\nAim for impact: You look beyond the immediate request, prioritise what moves the needle and remove recurring work through better processes, automation and self-service\n\nEmpower others: You are professional yet personable, a trusted, approachable partner who communicates clearly, protects confidentiality and holds boundaries with care\n\nAlways be curious: You question inefficient ways of working, think through edge cases and keep learning across systems, data and changing compliance requirements\n\nEnjoy the ride: You bring warmth, resilience and positive energy, helping people feel supported even when the topic is stressful or sensitive\n\nDetail-obsessed, in a good way: You get genuine satisfaction from accurate records, correctly filed documents and carefully tracked deadlines, because you know that is where compliance and trust are won or lost.\n\nWorkplace & benefits\nCustomizable benefits package covering wellbeing, sport, mobility, food and more\n\n28 days of vacation, plus two company days and local public holidays\n\nRemote-flexible hybrid work with three days per week in the office\n\nUp to 6 remote calendar weeks per year\n\nA great tech and work setup\n\nWork with a diverse team of 150+ bunchies from 40+ countries, with leaders who are best-in-class in their domains\n\nInterview process\nIntro call (30 min) - Senior People Business Partner.
