This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for supporting multiple businesses. The Controller will also be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.\nThe Controller maintains a strong business partner relationship with operations and commercial leadership teams responsible for the various businesses, analyzing costs, improving profitability, and driving process efficiencies. Strong leadership, advanced Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems are required. Confidentiality and sound judgment are essential.\nPrimary Duties and Responsibilities\nLeadership & Team Management\nSupervise, train, and develop accounting staff across multiple entities or locations\nLead by example in demonstrating our core values (CREED)\nEstablish performance expectations, provide coaching, and conduct performance evaluations\nPromote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration\nAccounting Operations\nOversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and cash application processes across multiple companies\nReview and approve transaction coding to ensure proper general ledger classification by entity and division\nManage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations\nOversee customer billing, vendor payments, and deposit activities across business units\nApprove check runs and ACH transactions\nManufacturing & Cost Accounting\nResponsible for inventory accounting, including raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods\nResponsible for managing and reviewing standard costing, cost roll-ups, and bill of materials (BOM) accuracy\nAnalyze manufacturing variances (labor, material, overhead) and partner with plant leadership to address issues\nMonitor inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes\nSupport production reporting, margin analysis, and cost control initiatives\nFinancial Close & Reporting\nResponsible for month-end and year-end close processes\nReview and/or prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements\nEnsure timely and accurate reporting of financial results\nAllocate costs between the business as appropriate\nPrepare and analyze financial reports, including cash flows, variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs)\nProvide insights and recommendations to senior leadership and operations teams\nCompliance, Controls & Audits\nEstablish and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets\nEnsure compliance with GAAP and company policies across all entities\nMaintain documentation of accounting processes and procedures\nProcess Improvement & Cross-Functional Support\nPartner with sales, operations, supply chain, and plant managers to improve financial performance\nIdentify and implement process improvements and system enhancements (ERP optimization)\nSupport budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives\nStreamline workflows across entities to improve efficiency and scalability\nConfidentiality\nProtect the organization by maintaining strict confidentiality of financial, operational, and personnel information\nKnowledge and Ability\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required (CPA or CMA preferred)\n5+ years Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment\n3+ years of supervisor or management experiences with direct reports\nStrong knowledge of GAAP and multi-entity accounting structures\nExperience with cost accounting, standard costing, and inventory accounting\nProficiency with ERP systems (Macola and SAP preferred)\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)\nExperience managing intercompany transactions and consolidations\nStrong leadership and team development skills\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities\nHigh attention to detail and accuracy\nAbility to think both analytically and creatively;
