Manager, Digital Product Management (12-month renewable contract)

Job Purpose

The role focuses on maximizing value and achieving desirable human and business outcomes through digital platforms, in addition to driving the delivery of digital products, platform and services and managing the product development cycle.

Responsibilities

• Support to define the product vision through communicating with business, technology and delivery stakeholders to understand business objectives, creating a product roadmap and keeping product in line with business goals. Establish metrics for tracking product performance and for the support of development
• Maximise the value contribution of digital platforms and commercialisation of digital channels through deep analysis of market knowledge, understanding and anticipating customers’ needs to manage the development process and creating customer journey maps and experience enhancement.
• Effectively manage the product backlog by creating a list of backlog items, prioritizing items based on overall strategy and mapping out dependencies. Ability to translate business requirements into functional requirements
• Prioritize needs to balance scope, budget, and time, and weigh priorities according to the needs and objectives of stakeholders
• Oversee product development stages through working with different teams in an agile approach. Continuously refine and improve the development process (identify and organize steps for next iteration) for better planning, execution and review
• Continually evaluate product progress by determining whether the final delivery is acceptable, inspecting and evaluating product progress through each iteration and being accountable for each stage of the development process and final deliverables
• Keep abreast of market trends, digital, operations landscape of insurance, financial services, health services and technology fields
• Regularly track and analyse performance of digital platforms and customer management process, understand trends and dynamics to provide campaign reporting, analysis, and insights
• Take relevant control measures to minimize risk exposure and fully complied with regulatory and business conduct

Requirements

Qualifications, Training and Experience

• University degree in Information Systems, Business Administration or other relevant qualifications
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in digital product development, e-commerce or related field, and preferably experience gained from start-ups, digital or online business. Candidate will also be considered as Assistant Product Manager with less experience but good capability
• Good interpersonal & problem-solving skills; able to connect effectively with various business units and stakeholders/regulators to drive growth and digital product roadmap according to customer insights, data and customer journey. Experience of handling large scale project is a definite plus
• Proven hands-on ability to deliver the product/service timely with relevant and efficient results; while effectively managing stakeholders’ expectation and driving transformation
• Strong analytical, organisational and relationship building skills, especially dealing with large and complex projects; knowledge on insurance products is an advantage
• Experience in engaging in technical discussions with technology counterparts and ability to influence solution design is a definite plus
• Ideal candidate is proactive, strategic and an excellent communicator with user-focused and product-driven mindset and strong on digital strategy, including scrum, product management, usability, experimentation and data analytics
• Proficient writing and verbal communications skills in both English and Chinese are required
