We believe that excellent hospitality services play a vital role in supporting the patient journey, and our Catering team is at the heart of creating a welcoming, high-quality environment throughout the hospital.\nHow you'll help us make health happen\nAs a Pantry & Catering Assistant, you'll play an important role in ensuring patients, visitors, consultants and colleagues receive a high-quality dining experience every day. Working closely with the Catering team, you'll support meal service, maintain excellent hygiene standards and help create a positive environment throughout the hospital.\nKey Responsibilities\nPrepare pantry areas for meal service, ensuring all supplies, beverages, cutlery and equipment are available and ready for use.\nServe and distribute meals and beverages to patients, ensuring dietary requirements and allergies are communicated appropriately.\nSupport the preparation and service of meals within staff and consultant dining areas.\nMaintain coffee machines and ensure dining areas remain clean, organised and welcoming throughout service.\nCollect food orders from clinical departments and assist with delivering pre-ordered meals and refreshments.\nFollow food hygiene, COSHH and Health & Safety regulations at all times.\nComplete daily temperature checks, cleaning schedules and other required records accurately.\nMaintain high standards of cleanliness through a \"clean as you go\" approach.\nLiaise effectively with kitchen teams and other hospital departments to ensure a smooth catering service.\nDeliver excellent customer service, responding professionally and courteously to patients, visitors and colleagues.\nWhat we're looking for\nEssential\nGood standard of general education.\nPrevious experience within a restaurant, canteen, hospitality or catering environment.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nA customer-focused approach with a passion for delivering outstanding service.\nAbility to work efficiently in a busy environment and manage competing priorities.\nTeam player with a positive and proactive attitude.\nFlexibility to work across a 7-day rota, including occasional overtime when required.\nDesirable\nNVQ or equivalent qualification in Catering.\nKnowledge of food hygiene standards and catering operations.\nBenefits\nOur benefits are designed to make health happen for our people.
