Our role is to inspect commercial kitchen extract systems, from the canopy through to the final discharge point, on behalf of landlords and property owners to assess compliance with TR19® Grease requirements.\nCurrently, we undertake inspections across more than 150 commercial kitchen outlets throughout London on a routine quarterly basis.\nRole Overview:\nInspections are typically undertaken outside normal restaurant operating hours and generally take place between· 18:00 and 03:00. Early morning starts, where required and occasional weekend working\nInspection reports are generally completed and issued to clients by the next working day.\nThis is a hybrid role offering a varied working pattern. Typically, the successful candidate will undertake approximately - 2 to 3 nights per week carrying out site inspection.\n 2 days per week preparing reports and undertaking associated administrative duties\nWorking hours will vary depending on operational requirements, and some weeks may include additional early morning or standard daytime working.\nAll client liaison, site access arrangements and permit requirements are coordinated by Bureau Veritas, and our clients are well established and familiar with the inspection process.\nKey Responsibilities:\nUndertake independent TR19® Grease inspections of commercial kitchen extract systems.\nAssess system condition, cleanliness and compliance with industry standards.\nRecord findings accurately and prepare comprehensive inspection reports.\nObtain access, maintenance records and supporting documentation from site representatives.\nLiaise professionally with tenants, facilities teams and client representatives.\nSubmit completed reports within agreed timescales.\nEssential Knowledge and Experience:\nA sound understanding of the TR19® Grease Standard and commercial kitchen extract systems is required, including knowledge of:\nCanopy grease filters and grease separators\nSound attenuators\nTurning vanes and changes in airflow direction\nExtract fan systems\nGrease Thickness Test (GTT) measurements\nUltraviolet (UV) filtration systems\nWater-wash canopy systems\nCarbon filtration systems\nElectrostatic Precipitators (ESP)\nFire suppression systems\nEcology units\nPlanned preventative maintenance and cleaning regimes\nQualifications:\nCandidates should ideally hold one of the following qualifications:\nBESA Grease Hygiene Technician (GHT)\nBESA Grease Hygiene Operative (GHO)\nEquivalent experience within the kitchen extract ventilation industry will also be considered.\nSkills and Attributes:\nDemonstrable experience working with commercial kitchen extract systems.\nAbility to work independently and use initiative to obtain site access and relevant maintenance records.\nStrong attention to detail and report-writing skills.\nGood working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.\nComfortable working flexible and unsocial hours, with work schedules planned in advance wherever possible.\nWillingness to undertake regular night working, typically 2-3 nights per week.\nAbility to work from home when preparing and submitting inspection reports.\nOpportunity to cross train into Legionella Risk Assessments and or Indoor Air Quality Audits also available to assist progression and further personal development.\nWhat’s in it for you?\nCompetitive salary \nCar allowance of £4,250 / Company Car option\n25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays with the option to buy or sell 5 holidays, plus an option to carry over 5 days\nCombined pension contributions of up to 12%\nShare in Success company bonus scheme - We recognise that overall business success is due to the contribution made by every employee\nAnnual Salary review\nFlexible benefits scheme, to suit what is important to you including Life Cover, Private health care, Dental Care, GymFlex, Techscheme, Enhanced Maternity/Paternity policy, Give as You Earn scheme & Travel Insurance\nHealth and Wellbeing Support through;
