Do you seek out ideas for improving the status quo?\nIf you want to make a difference and love being surrounded by the best and the brightest minds, Bureau Veritas Canada might be the place for you!\nHere are our Core Values:\nTrusted\nResponsible\nAmbitious & Humble\nOpen & Inclusive\nIf these values resonate with you, Bureau Veritas is looking for a\nMaintenance Technician\nLocation: Vancouver, BC\nSalary: Starting at $25/hr\nReporting to the Maintenance Manager and under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repairs and preventive maintenance of BVCC buildings and equipment.\nKey Accountability/Responsibilities:\nEnsure that equipment that requires external calibrations are monitored to have the calibration carried out by qualified calibration services to comply with requirements of ISO 17025.\nComply with all occupational safety regulations, laboratory safety procedures and as required, requirements of ISO Quality System SOPs.\nAct in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire including the required personal protective equipment (PPE).\nAfter consult manufacturer's manuals, circuit diagrams and blueprints, assist in the maintenance, inspection and test operation of all monitoring instruments used throughout the facility. \nAssist in the monitoring, documentation and record keeping of equipment and calibrations.\nPerform the daily monitoring and control of deionized water system, facility compressed gas systems, acid neutralization system and exhaust system bearing temperature measurements recording. \nCarry out general maintenance of building and grounds as required.\nResponsible for update the CMMS with proper data according to company SOPs.\nResponsible for maintaining and replacing sheaves, bushings, belts, pillow blocks, and bearings on make-up air units and exhaust fans, including repair and adjust system components. \nResponsible for the maintenance of building environmental systems, including wash down air scrubbing systems, exhaust fans, make up air units, dust collection systems, etc, including repair and adjust system components.\nResponsible for the maintenance of equipment used throughout the facility, such as rock crushing and pulverizing machines, gas and electric furnaces, hot plates, digestion blocks, fume hoods, etc.\nResponsible for maintaining pneumatic and hydraulic systems as well as belt and chain driven equipment throughout the facility.\nResponsible for adjusting and controlling the BMS system to provide proper ventilation and temperature control for the facility.\nOther duties or task as required or assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor\nSkills and Knowledge:\nAble to handle heavy loads up to 40 lbs on a regular basis.\nAble to work at heights above 30 feet from boom lift systems with required Fall Protection.\nGood communication skills in English, both verbal and written.\nStrong organizing and time management skills.\nHigh trades aptitude required;
