The REI will provide daily on-site supervision, ensure compliance with design and contract requirements, and coordinate with contractors, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.\nCandidates must hold a New York PE license; a New Jersey PE license is highly desirable as the company expands into NJ. This will be a fully on-site, long-term role with direct responsibility for managing complex projects including bridges, tunnels, heavy foundations, utility relocations, and civil infrastructure work.\nKey Responsibilities\nProject Oversight & Field Management\nServe as the owner’s on-site representative, overseeing all construction activities and contractor operations.\nEnsure all work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and contract documents.\nConduct daily field inspections, documenting progress, safety compliance, and quality control issues.\nResolve field conflicts and design clarifications promptly to minimize delays.\nManage multiple stakeholders, including contractors, subcontractors, design teams, utility companies, and regulatory agencies.\nProject Controls & Financial Management\nManage project schedules using Primavera P6, reviewing and updating progress regularly.\nTrack project budgets, forecasting expenditures and managing cash flow.\nReview, negotiate, and approve change orders, including pricing, estimating, and assessing budget impacts.\nPrepare and maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, logs, and project documentation.\nMonitor compliance with safety and environmental regulations.\nEngineering Leadership & Professional Oversight\nApply professional engineering judgment in evaluating design and construction issues.\nProvide technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff and field engineers.\nConduct inspections, testing, and verification to ensure quality standards are met.\nSupport construction management processes, including scheduling, estimating, and risk mitigation.\nAct as a liaison between the owner and project teams, advocating for project goals and ensuring alignment with objectives.\nQualifications\nActive Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York required; New Jersey PE license preferred.\nBachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.\nMinimum of 8 years of progressive experience in resident engineering, construction inspection, and project management for heavy civil projects.\nDemonstrated experience with bridges, tunnels, heavy foundations, utility relocations, and large-scale infrastructure projects.\nStrong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and standards.\nProficiency in Primavera P6, project scheduling, budgeting, estimating, and forecasting.\nExperience managing change orders, contract administration, and construction negotiations.\nProfessional certifications such as CCM, PMP, or CWI strongly preferred.\nExceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work fully on-site, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a proactive approach to project delivery.\nCompensation & Benefits\nThis is a per project role with hourly agreed upon rates for special inspection work.\nFully on-site, long-term project assignments\nOpportunity to work on high-profile, complex infrastructure projects\nProfessional growth and mentoring in a collaborative engineering environment\nWhy Join Us\nThis is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced PE looking to manage and execute heavy civil infrastructure projects.
